I agree with you on principal and I abhor trolling and nastiness for it's own sake, however, sometimes a negative comment can serve a purpose and as long as it is said without spite it can be helpful.

Yes, but she didn't really specify only said "negative" comments which could be anything at all. Don't like something someone has said? He/she is being mean to me!

What exactly are you talking about, huh? If it's trolling like Lynibis said then you have a point but if someone is simply putting his/her opinion out there on a possible faulty and/or crappy product for others to be aware of, that's a good thing.

People these days complain about not being able to listen to music at work, not being able to use a debit/credit card anywhere, people shouldn't be able write "negative" comments, etc. Folks in the Western world really have it darn great to rant about insignificant stuff like this.

Haha, that last one I wrote about "people shouldn't be able to write "negative" comments" reminded me the U.K. police spends too much time monitoring "negative" stuff people say instead of man up and do their actual job. Catching criminals but God forbid they get off their arses.

P.S. If a business owner does not offer in his/her establishment to pay via card, that's obvious, avoid charges and just pay with money instead. Don't like it? Go elsewhere, but chances are you're the one missing out just because you decided to be stubborn about the card "issue".

It was a Designer Bag deal over 160 pounds off, ppl was writing really negative comments, If I dont like something I would just scroll on past, i wouldnt feel the need to comment in a negative way, I get it if you have purchased a product and It was a crappy product so comment to save someone else wasting money, I just think to comment on a product and leave a random negative speech is negative...

Hi ShellyWilliams

I just read the comments on the post you are citing and saw nothing offensive. Two users wrote about the high price of the bag, but at no time were offensive.

Whenever you get any offensive comments you can give us a shout and we will check.

Cheers

ShellyWilliams Yes, but they are not offensive.

The comments space is for users to talk about the offer and not just thank you. The space is democratic and can also be used for criticism as long as it is not offensive or meaningless.

Thank you!

Maybe I should have been a little more constructive and corrected the spelling BARGAIN because that has meaning

When people are trolling (just being annoying or joking sarcastically) that's one thing but if it's their own opinion then that's got to be respected even if you and I don't like it. This isn't 1984 (yet) where only one opinion is valid and the other may be considered a "hate crime".

No country has absolute free speech but rather with limits (U.S. too despite how much they hold on to the 1st Amendment).

Why did you delete your comment on the post ?. They are meaningless comments though, they are not constructive in any way !!.

You could say that about many of the topics and comments on chat. So, so many are meaningless and purely point gathering. I read the comments on the bag and did not feel any of them warranted the degree of upset you are feeling. They are directed at the ridiculous price of the bag, not at you personally.

I felt exactly the same but didn't comment, however, I did wonder why anyone who could afford that amount of money would be looking on a deal website.

If we only ever made comments that were constructive, conversation would die.

Does it make you feel upset when people are critical and somewhat negative?

You could try to accept and see their point of view than feed on only being overly positive. Plus, just see the "likes" as someone who wants to cheer you up or agree with rather than feel good because of it.

The world needs positive and negative 'energy' (for lack of a better word) so it's balanced.

If it was constructive then NO ! but when it is random and meaningless then it is frustrating ! not upsetting, I have thicker skin than that, and I am sorry but I do not believe in negativity when it does not have meaning x Have a blessed night pal

I totally agree with you! I think there is no need for negative comment because if you aren't interested or dislike a deal, then i think you should just leave it alone. No need to upset others just for the sake of it!
