Amazon has just announced the Amazon Echo Show, the newest entry in Amazon's voice-activated line of Echo products and the first device to be equipped with a screen, which combines the Amazon Alexa voice assistant with a touchscreen and webcam.

The Amazon Echo Show follows in the footsteps of the Amazon Echo Look, which combined Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant with a camera that can take pictures and offer style recommendations. What’s radically different is that the Amazon Echo Show can provide you with information via its screen as well as through sound - previous speakers could only use voice to communicate.

US$229.99 in the USA

£220 in the UK (rumours suggest)

When will it be launched?

On June 28th in the USA and available for pre-order now on Amazon.com (the US website)

Can I buy Amazon Echo Show direct from Amazon.com and have it delivered to me in the UK?

Err, no. I just tried it. There are restrictions on this product that stop you, probably mostly to do with UK import tax & duties. Features

The Amazon Echo Show is equipped with the Alexa voice assistant, a webcam, and a seven inch touchscreen enabled screen, eight microphones, and Bluetooth, so it will can both tell you and show you information.

Some of the things it can do are: show notifications, play internet video, show lyrics on Amazon Music, and facilitate conversations between different devices in the same house.
