How Do You Get Your News?

Ask a Question

I used t o get a daily newspaper but now I get my news from the BBC website or TV which isn't in-depth coverage. Has anyone used the online broadsheets and if which would you recommend? PS, I wouldn't say my politics were centre stage

I use upday on my phone

The problem with newspapers is they are often biased. I want undiluted facts not someone's opinion of them very hard to find

I agree with which is why I stopped buying a paper but miss not having the background, context my news now just seems to be headlines 🙂

Mainly the BBC .They are the most trustworthy for accurate factual reporting and their left wing bias for "opinion" is well known and ca be easily compensated for .

I like to watch the 6 o’clock news on the BBC and rarely read newspapers but my husband still buys a Telegraph or Times over the weekend. Gives him something to read while I watch the trash on tv.

I check the BBC news site in the mornings. Occasionally watch the evening the news. Other than that I try to avoid it.

I mostly get my news online these days. A member of my household buys The Sun newspaper, and I'll look through that occasionally, but otherwise I don't bother with newspapers anymore.

I use a few apps usually.

BBC, RT, Sky and Wales Online.

I think that you need a variety of sources.

Twitter and Google both serve what they think I am interested in reading about via all the piles of personal data they probably have from my browsing habits. They have clamped down on a lot of the crap / fake news this year as well with everything that has been going on. If I decide to read more on a particular story, I'll always click on a link that ends up on a reputable media outlet.

TheChimp They all have their faults but having worked for the BBC, I can assure you they're not all a bunch of people with a hidden agenda like some believe. I'd be far more cautious with media companies who rely on clicks for their revenue and therefore spout absolute **** with embellished or fake photographs just to knock up page views. I am wondering what you're going to say about them now though and also who you consider to be more reputable 😁
