This is getting ridiculous now, people apologising for using a perfectly polite and respectful way of addressing people

What do people want instead ??

Wtf. If I need to take a leak I'm not concerned about that nonsense.

Personally, the toilets for wheelchair folks are my favorite when available since they're clean and loads of space, kinda like home.

I took the trouble to read the link - I hate the "let's guess what topic is about by the title" game. It had nothing to do with the naming of toilets.

I read this and thought the world has gone mad, this is just good manners and surprised the conductor was that polite 🙂

People are free to identify however they wish and use whichever terms/words they want to describe their gender, but I think the way LNER responded to this is appalling.

'train managers should not be using language like this'

Saying "language like this" just seems wrong to me.

What happened to catering for the majority. Most of us consider ourselves 'ladies and gentlemen' so now the rest of us are all upset instead.

How are you upset by this? How can you possibly be offended that the term ”ladies and gentleman” isn’t going to be used when you get on a train? They will more than likely just instead say “welcome everyone/all passengers“ or something similar. How on earth could that offend you?

I think you'll find that you’re the one being sensitive if this really bothers you. Is it really an issue if the term “ladies and gentleman” isn’t said when you get on a train? No😂

It’ll be the Thought Police next.

If you identify as a unicorn then good for you, but we can’t all walk on eggshells in order to avoid hurting someone’s feelings because they perceive a phrase to be discriminatory.

Next week, the word ‘hello’ might be offensive to someone 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

This is just getting silly now! Soon we'll not be able to say 'man' or 'woman' or 'he' or 'she'. 🤯

An old tweet that was sent by the person who made the complaint about the phrase "Ladies and Gentlemen" has been showing up online today. In the tweet this person says "Good evening ladies and gents."

Hmmmm...

Pointless pandering for a very small percentage of people that ends up irritating everyone else. Society seems to be getting more Kafkaesque by the day.

Once upon a tine, it was appropriate to address people in such ways. Now, it’s best not to. Madness
