NoKeys.com legit or a scam?

Other

Noticed that there are some NoKeys' deals on LD and it seems a bit dodgy. www.nokeys.com prices appear to be low priced but I've never seen this website being promoted anywhere else (YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, Gaming Forums, etc) than on LatestDeals which could be worrisome.

NoKeys seems to be rather too similar to G2A, buy at a low price and then if the key becomes invalid... tough luck!

Did some research and found this:

TERRIBLE! I ordered a Microsoft key, was charged twice, and never received my key. I sent several emails, tried to message them through live chat and never received a response. It's been days and I still have not been refunded and have received no response. They basically stole my money Terrible customer service!!

- Monica (Trustpilot)

Site is a joke. Paid. Waited 1 hour, still no key, wrote an e-mail. Got back an automated reply. Another 2 hours later they refunded my payment.

- Stieler (Trustpilot)

Not really much to go on as to how reliable or lack there of they are. To be fair, they have a 8.6/10 score on Trustpilot but bringing up G2A here, G2A has an 8.9/10 so be careful relying too much on Trustpilot reviews.

Gamerofgames mixmixi you fellas know anything about NoKeys?

Hey Rockman thanks for looking into this! If the consensus of LD members is that NoKeys aren't a trustworthy retailer we'll look to add a block on their deals being shared.

Would be great to hear other people's experiences/knowledge of them 🙂

On LD's rival site any G2A deal gets bad rep for good reason, so it'd be interesting if those who are into NoKeys would post it there to see their feedback.

Kelsey it's possible that https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/@firstisgood may be an employee of NoKeys posting it here. I mean, all his deals are from NoKeys.

Who's ever heard of NoKeys?

Found some questionable stuff.

http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Nokeys_com

On both of these the only people who say anything positive about NoKeys are absolute strangers and they don't even try to hide they're shills.

Something shady is going on and if this backfires which may very well, it will also run LatestDeals name to the ground.

Scam. Another shady grey key site advertising itself. They are at it again this morning.

I agree with Dread. NoKeys is clearly advertising itself on Latest Deals and should be banned.

NoKeys is based out of Hong Kong. I am not even sure that it is a Registered Company! One to avoid.

Seems there's a pretty clear consensus here! Thanks for the feedback guys I'll get NoKeys added to the banned list of sites 👍

CHoward there's been a recent avalanche of NoKeys posters on LD and I wonder if it's different people or the same guy doing it all at once, somehow. I asked firstisgood if he's an employee of NoKeys and he never replied with a 'yes' or 'no.'

Not that I disagree with the trusted members opinions on this thread but I ordered the minecraft key that was posted today , went on the sites live chat to check how I receive it and had a valid key sent through to my email which I have redeemed no problems, used Paypal to pay.

yummyyetis That's the thing with G2A too. It's valid for certain time and then it gets revoked, NoKeys has shown no interest to leave their feedback which shows they're not really trustworthy.

Rockman I can't speak for nokeys but as far as G2A goes I've used them several times and not had any keys revoked. I know there was a period where a batch of keys were revoked by a publisher because they'd been purchased with stolen credit cards before being sold on the market place but other than that I've not heard any real horror stories. If you're worried you might get a dodgy key you can protect yourself by purchasing their insurance for a few pence extra and also use PayPal as an extra layer of protection. The thing with the grey market sites is they're not illegal or necessarily dodgy, they're just market places like amazon's own marketplace. They've been attacked by games industry publishers because they think they should get a cut from the keys being sold, which is a bit odd as they've already been paid for the keys that are being sold there. It's like buying a new car from Ford and then deciding you're going to sell it, only for them to turn up and say they should be paid some of the money from the second hand sale as well.

Mav even if the case LD was getting spammed hard by NoKeys and its users (probably more like one with multiple accts) giving heat to his own NK deals. They brought this on themselves.

Rockman oh yeah, in the case of the nokeys posting I agree fully. I strongly suspected they were all one member of staff from the site flooding LD, especially the other day when they started commenting on each other's posts etc. I just wanted to point out that the site itself, and others like it, might not necessarily be dodgy and there are ways to make buying from them safer for yourself if you want to grab a bargain without taking too much of a risk. 😄

Mav Maybe but the fact he denied to reply about his stance here or on one of his NK deals doesn't inspire confidence.

I had a small chat and then it ended with a question he never answered, but we know anyway.

Rockman no it doesn't. Like I said though, I can't really state how reliable NoKeys themselves are as I hadn't heard of them until they started posting here. The people posting however did seem exceedingly shady and the LD community is certainly better off without them so well done on calling them out. Other grey market sites though, such as G2A and Kinguin, have been given a bad name unfairly in my opinion for the reason I gave above. Again I can only go by my own experience and those of people I know, plus my knowledge of the games industry and the way and reasons why they've attacked the grey market sites. In my opinion, and it is only my opinion, sites such as G2A shouldn't be vilified because of an unfortunate incident involving a dodgy seller using their site or greedy publishers who want to kill the grey market and even trade-in/preowned schemes in highstreet stores due to their greed and sense of entitlement. There's a reason Microsoft wanted to lock games to the Xbox One so you couldn't trade them in or swap them with friends and family before they had to backtrack thanks to a public backlash and Sony deciding not to follow suit with the PS4.
