Are these the most offensive terms for women over 45 ?

Other

Hag , Witch and Crone have been voted the most offensive words for women over 45

But the actual origins of the words are not so offensive

Crone originally meant ‘old crown’ and was given to the wisest women of the tribe, Witch comes from ‘wit’, which means wise and Hag is from ‘hagio’ meaning holy

Meanwhile a man with grey hair is known as a 'silver fox', maybe not as offensive as calling someone a cougar

Yes.It seems a lot of the new sensitivity readers are not especially good writers, nor do they seem to have a particularly good knowledge overall of the composition or meaning of words .Many people say nice things just to curry favour .I rather prefer plain honest talk borne of good intent even if the words aren't always pc.

Bossclaz I think these are less offensive because they had a positive meaning originally B, it is people that have twisted the meaning to cause offense , but as you say, there are worse

The sensitivity readers are changing some words and sentences in Roald Dahl's books

Nadiaparveen I am sure i read somewhere the publishers were against it , but i cannot find any more information N

Imagine if many other books or even movies needed to be changed to appease a few, it would cost millions, absolutely ridiculous

telmel I loved Roald Dahl's books as a kid and I don't like the idea of changing his words .. they can make their own stories but should leave his books alone

Whilst I'm not over 45 I wouldn't care less if someone called me any of these names. There are worse things to be called and I wouldn't be bothered if I was called those either.
