What are some of the oldest things in your home ??
We still have the kitchen stove after nearly 28 years! It was there before I was born and it's still working just fine 
Also, there is a big mirror in the our bathroom .. I have no idea how old it is but it's been there since my childhood.
Do you have anything older than 10 years in your home? It doesn't have to be anything electrical.. it could be an old vase or something you collected that you still have in your house 
I have a set of Venetian hand painted glasses that used to be my mothers. They are over 50 years old. There used to be six, but I’m now down to four!
All of the furniture in our house is 10 years old. It was bought for my first flat and came with us when we moved into our house. As we've only been here 5 years all our appliances are 5 years old, except the boiler it's about 12 years.
My mum has a chest freezer that is 29 years old, it has e up on her yesterday and she has had to buy a new one.
Nadiaparveen I know, it was bought 6 months before I was born, so it's actually 30 years! Mum was gutted it broke on her.
I've got a bookcase, desk and dining table that my Grandad made for his wedding in 1930 and are all in daily use. The chest freezer that was Mums bought in 1980 is still going. A half tea set from late 1920's and a few ornaments that belonged to my Great Gran 1890/1900's. It appears I don't throw things out, but I wonder how many things bought today will be around in 40+ years time.
My oldest thing in my home would be our fireplace which is very old but I think its beautiful and we have taken very good care of it so people don't think its very old most the time.

My Fridge and Toaster are 26 years old, Oven is at least 40 years but the oldest item and it does need replacing as its creaking and keeps getting patched up and repaired is me
Yes, some pieces of furniture. My bedroom furniture is 15+ years old. I have inherited tea sets that originally belonged to my grandma. Also bits of jewellery that belonged to her. My most prized possession however is a large very expensive mirror I inherited from my parents which is at least 20+ years old.
I've had a tumble dryer for over 15 years it was in my brothers house before I got it so no clue as to actual age
I still have a fully working Braun Multipractic Deluxe Food Processor my dad gave me when I moved out of family home into my first house 30 years ago and it was second hand them. I still use this on a regular basis when cooking and baking 
why replace when still doing a good job.
I have an oak bible box that’s been in the family for generations. It has MV1759 carved on the front, which suggests it was made 261 years ago. Anyone know what the MV stands for?
Can't be certain but the M & V are possibly the initials of its first owner, by a strange coincidence the 1759 is a numerical anagram of the test runs (5719) scored by Michael Vaughan.

Johnny no if I were you I’d be the same I would want to hold onto it to. A bit like my rocking horse. But I bet my kids will skip it when I’m not around
I have a rocking horse my grandad made for my cousin, he was the first born grandchild 50 years ago. my grandson now plays on it he calls it bullseye from toy story. my kids laugh at it but I can’t bare to part with it
Nadiaparveen it’s a sad looking thing painted in dark brown but I just can’t throw it away
Loads of vases, glasses, plates etc. some of which are probably over 100 years old which were my grandparents/great grand parents.
We have a canteen of cutlery, in a beautiful wooden case, complete with purchase receipt from September 1931. It was purchased by my Great Grandfather as a wedding present for my maternal grandparents so it’s 89 years old.
I also have my Mum’s Kenwood Chef mixer. I don’t use it that often but I always get it out to make the Xmas cake, and use the liquidiser to make pancake batter on Shrove Tuesday. It still works perfectly. She purchased it when my brother was a baby, to purée his food. He was born in 1960 so that makes it 60 years old.
We have only lived in our house for 4 years and I would love to say washing machine, but I am on my 3rd one.. apparently I overload them 
The oldest thing in my house is a miniature shelf unit that I use as a spice rack in the kitchen. He’s a carpenter now, but made it when he was around 10 years old. He’s almost 60 now and still making all sorts of things from wood!
My freezer supposedly undercounter but set into kitchen unit - is about 39 years old and still working, gas stove was bought in 1992.
I also have two guitars that were pre-owned when I bought them in 1958, one of them was possibly the first guitar of a Liverpudlian guitarist who later went on to world fame. I've several other guitars that are over 50 years old too,
wow you obviously buy wisely and look after stuff .... I like to think I do both too but can't even begin to match that!
Some older appliances were better made and built to last. My battery wall clock was a present in 1973 and electric alarm clock dates back to 1976, I had to repair the battery contacts on the wall clock, but both clocks are in good working order.
davidstockport Yes...I agree totally about them being better made and built to last_ I hate the throwaway attitude but am still impressed!
