OMG! a Programme Break without a Charity Advert!
Ask a Question
I've been watching Four in a Bed on More4 and there was a break with absolutely NO charity adverts!
This must be a first over the whole Channel 4 network.
To be honest, I reckon that all charities will take a massive hit because of the continuous barrage of begging.
I used to unemployed and on £54 a week and I gave £2 a month to Amnesty International, but they rang me up and wanted to increase the payment to £15 a month. I stopped my DD immediately.
Are you lot getting sick of charity adverts?
The adverts that are really getting on my **** are those with the people on Zoom etc. Banks are doing it a lot because they seem to think it makes us feel more connected with them but actually I just think "what a load of annoying t***s".
EDIT: Interesting, I just had to censor my own swear word there. Kelsey, you need to add the word t*at to your dictionary. As far as I know though, blue **** are a type of bird so that's a tricky one to filter. I see you went for the safe option with it though.
Dennab You're going to be put on the naughty step again if you don't watch out
The snowflakes will be out for you.
I'm at home all the time and mentioned to the wife about the charity adverts and how much they got me down.
She poo pooed it until she's been on furlough and had to put up with the crap.
TheChimp No this isn't criticism of their deals. It mostly kicks off I dare to criticise as some people don't like it. Anyway, if you have a recording box, just pause when the adverts come on, wait a few minutes and fast forward them. Also, don't watch the one about children with a cleft lip. The woman who presents it is an extremely annoying and patronising dosser.
TheChimp Cancer Research kept calling every so often to "thank me" for a one off donation of money that I had given them from a family funeral. I had to stop them in their tracks with the whole sales process and say I am not setting up a direct debit. They eventually got my direct debt though when a bloke collared me in The Range as I was walking out and signed me up to their lottery.
I wonder how much money it costs to air all these Charity advertisement? Surely they should use that money for the cause they’re promoting.
I actually saw a programme that was sponsored by a charity the other night, I am pretty sure it was The Chase. Why are they using charity donations given in good faith to sponsor tv programmes?
This one was just on TV and all I can look at was her teeth thinking did she get her teeth done by a horse dentist
Another thing that's annoying me is supermarkets and the like slapping themselves on the back in adverts for giving a couple of quid to good causes after putting prices up.
PLEASE MAKE THEM STOP!
I can't cope anymore.
And they want more and more money.
MSF are now asking for £30!
THIRTY POUNDS, MIND.
Some people don't have that to feed their family for a week.
