Any Opinions on High-End Designer Brands?

I can't believe pieces of material sewn together can be sold for so much money and that ordinary people is willing to pay that kind of money to be seen with a designer name on their clothing. The same applies to "designer" shoes, trainers, handbags, I could go on. A complete rip off if you ask me.

Often they are still produced in sweatshop factories in the far east often with very dangerous safety standards like that horrific fire in Bangladesh where a huge number of people were killed and many left with horrible burn scars for life. You'd think considering their price they would use high end local factories but I guess they don't have the volume of orders for that to make economic sense. The end of the day the more we spend on imports creating a huge trade deficit the poorer this country becomes and the more suffering in the country as the government borrows more which we all have to pay back with interest. It's good to make use of s/hand products or repair old items and if you are buying an imported product the lower the value the better as long as you are not sacrificing quality. I buy s/hand clothes and shoes sometimes and occasionally I get a more premium brand cheap and I can't see a quality difference to much cheaper products. Yes the cheapest are bad quality typically but slightly more expensive and the quality improves dramatically a lot of the time. However I am not a fashionable person. I wear comfortable clothes which I like the look of rather than follow trends.
