Organising a Surprise Baby Shower and Looking for Ideas Please x
Ask a Question
Hi everyone, I'm organising a baby shower for the first time for my sister in law and have seen some great games to play, the cake is being made by a friend, and decorations being made by my sister. I wondered if anyone has any ideas about prizes for the games, favours, sweets etc as they seem to be pretty dear online. Thanks very much
Guess how many sweets inside baby bottle.
i watched a YouTube video of a family reveal and was brill painted some boiled eggs blue and some pink but the gender was a raw egg blue on dad pink on mum if have other children be good for them and funny for guest to watch .
pin the dummy on baby
Hi Ann1984 that's a great idea about guessing the number of sweets in a bottle and pin the dummy thanks x Going to have a look for that youtube video lol They have a toddler, sounds fun x
Ann1984 thanks for telling me about it, I just watched it, really made me smile Your daughter must laugh watching them x
Ann1984 that's so sweet about her being her pretend friend. They look like a great family and were having so much fun in the video x
Hi Dennab of course, it goes without saying we'll be staying 2 metres apart x
Thanks Dennab it's good to hear you're doing very well I'm keeping well too, thanks x
It is a baby shower. Gifts are for the Mum to be. Guests do not need gifts or prizes, Baby shower is there to have fun. But if you really want some prizes then some cheap sweets will do in my opinion.
I thought it'd be fun to play games and have few prizes, looking for deals on sweets, thanks x
My baby shower was very low key. I went for afternoon tea with my mother in law and Granny. They bought me a balloon and some chocolates and then took me to get my hair done! It was just what I wanted as I didn't want a fancy baby shower as they aren't my thing!
Games could be things like guess the weight of the baby, guess how long labour will be etc then it's an excuse to contact people after baby has been born to tell them who won and prizes could be delayed until then. For favours what about some small photo frames so they could put picture of baby in afterwards or make some tablet/shortbread/ individual cupcakes and put them in a baby themed bag or box?
Hi MrsCraig thanks so much. Her first baby shower was a surprise afternoon tea also and it was a lovely day. That's a brilliant idea about them taking you to get your hair done and the balloon and chocolates is lovely too. Oh yeah I hadn't thought about delays with those games. I'm going to do the guess the sweets in the bottle and pin the dummy games that Ann1984 recommend x Her cousin has a huge garden and we'll have a BBQ. Because it'll be smaller in numbers I wanted to give favours for people to bring home for their families, cupcakes and shortbread is perfect and that's a wonderful idea about small photo frames, going to have a look now. Thanks x
Dani1 you're welcome, glad I could help mine was a complete surprise too. My mother in law phoned and said can you pick Granny up for me and drop her off and when we walked in it was all organised on the table, it was lovely. A BBQ sounds lovely and a big garden makes it easier to social distance. Those games sound perfect and lots of fun x
MrsCraig I appreciate it and love the idea of shortbread, cupcakes and photo frames for friends and family that can't be there during this time. It's lovely to be treated at times and I can imagine your surprise at arriving to your afternoon tea, really lovely x
