Hi all, I’ve just joined the bandwagon of people with painted stairs project..would be nice to see all your finished project and how much it cost
Well I don't know what you are talking about. I chucked "painted stairs" in to google and some lovely images came up. Is this a thing now then? Makes me want to rip up the old carpet 
It’s the new craze I believe...I did rip up my old carpet as it was manky anyways I’ve just painted the stairs...realised the stair walls needed some lick of paint..painted that too , vinyl the understairs..and now I’m stock with the landing the boards underneath are wrecked so can not put my vinyl planks straight away.. so I had to call in the professionals for that. Wish I didn’t have to do that.though cause ..they are just too expensive!
that surely wouldn’t last as long? Like would scuff / mark / flake off if people walk on it with shoes on...?
Ive got floating stairs (i think their called), the house is rented. They would look stupid with carpet so i just paint them (then varnish), they do scuff a bit though. Much easier to clean though just have to wipe them down rather than dragging the hoover up and down the stairs 
What does it look like? I don't follow trends/challenges. Most are ridiculously stupid but this seems cool.
Some people paint their stairs and then have each step a different colour or have writing in each step which i think is quite cool. I love these. 
I've seen some of the painted stairs and they are truly beautiful......but...... when we bought our first house we couldn't afford stair carpet and just painted them white until we could. They scuffed which made them look pretty shabby and they were mind blowingly noisy! We saved like crazy to get some threads on those treads.
