Parents Ordered to Clean up Bottles and Vomit after Kids Trash Field with Party

Ask a Question

I had mixed emotions about this, I thought it was good idea that the rather than get the courts involved they asked the parents to clean up the mess, rather than leaving it to others.

But I think I would have preferred the youths involved doing the cleaning up. Although this may ensure the parents tell their kids off.

What are you thoughts ?

If my son was involved in this with his friends, I would expect them to clean up

beccatavender exactly my point or they will never learn. It nice to see that other parents think the same way as I do

I think the kids that made the mesa should clean it up.

100% with the other replies .... the kids should clean their own mess .... tho I'm beginning to despair after seeing how my own brother and wife scurry round after their 28 year old son ....and my friend does the same for her 24 year old daughter! Neither of them do ANY stuff to help! At 22 I was married, teaching a class of almost 40, working from home to make a bit extra and 'keeping' house cos hubby was working away ....arghhhhh!!!!!!! It was the norm.

I know when my son moved back in when he was 20 he soon reverted to his teenage self and expected us to do his washing but we soon put him straight and informed him if you wanted to be treated like an adult act like one. A bit of adjustment period for all of us🙂

beccatavender well good for you for setting the 'adjustment' switch!!!! he moved back around 22 till 28 yrs ...completely 'jobs and duty free' and then his girlfriend too.... both waited upon and fed etc etc..... Gawd help us if that's typical of how things are 😜 ....My best friend's 24 year old daughter is back from Australia since just before Covid hit... ruling the roost and same treatment, no contribution of any sort ...but no live in companion. The thing is...bot lots of parents would have 'banged' on and on if it had been anyone else's situation!🤣 ...and both households are strapped for cash and space!

Why the parents

Surely the kids lied in the first place what they was doing

So they would clean it up for lying as my punishment 😂

Make the kids clean it. But if they are still intoxicated and can’t then next best thing is for the parents to do so. Then for the parents to tell them off. I think most people have been silly when young. Think of all the so called adults that are still doing it now.
