Do People Still Go to Bonfires?
Ask a Question
I love the weather and food and yes I even like fireworks, Problem is they get abused animals and people are scared emergency services and police are stretched thin and its not good for the environment and wildlife.....what do you all think?
I haven't been for a few years, but I do enjoy a good Guy Fawkes Day. Remember, remember 5th November
I think organised guy fawkes events are safer and make it more family orientated these days. Local schools often arrange these. I used to get roped in for the catering and fund raising.
I haven't been to a bonfire in years either, locally in ottery st Mary they have the tradition of tar barrels, which is pretty crazy, I'd google it if you haven't seen it
We love a bonfire but there don't seem to be any around to attend which is a real shame. I assume that it is a stupid health & safety rule, but if you aren't ever exposed to a controlled fire, such as on bonfire night, how do learn to respect fire and be wary of it?
I don't really go to them anymore. There's usually a good one at my local park but it gets packed so I stopped going. We've a lot of greenery near where I live and people tend to have small ones around us. It's the fireworks that annoy me. I do like them by people on my estate seem to be in competition as to who can be the loudest, longest. My poor cat is terrified
We go to organised ones and love them. Our dog doesn't seem bothered by fireworks at all but I'm sure I'd feel differently if she was scared of them. We're going to one organised by my son's school this year.
