why do people do it every year .. kids ask for a puppy or kitten and their silly parents tell them yes as long as its walked or tray cleaned out or fed etc etc but after 3 month tops all the fun has disappeared coz puppy has started growing chewing shoes so rest of family annoyed .. its winter and u dont want to take it our because its cold etc ... so parents get annoyed because like the hamster or gerbil etc etc all this happened has happened before and pet was sold .. but alot of times a dog or a cat is just dumped or taken to the local cats n dogs home and some get euthanised ... please if your kid asks for a puppy for xmas tell them no until they prove they would look after them and be committed and make sure they old enough to look after them
I hate this time of the year because people are selling puppies left right and centre. The person just wants the money and no worry about what will happen to the poor puppy. For some its just a 5 miunte wonder. Then they get fed up with it and they just damp the poor thing. I think there should be a band selling puppy now on wards. And people who break the law should be fine very heavy. I've got dogs who are loved very very much. They are my baby's. I would go with out for my dogs. And santa comes with gifts for them.
The amount of dumped kittens/cats afer christmas gets worse and worse every year. It really annoys me when i see cats or kittens on facebook "free to god homes". There has been a huge rise in cats being advertised for free being collected then used as bait in dog fighting and if they survive which is highly unlikely , the injuries are often horrific. January and february for me is normallly super busy with foster cats and kittens that i take in because they are no longer wanted or the reality has set in for the previous owner and they realse that pets are not all rainbows and butterflies.
My son's are often telling me I should get a dog 'for company'' but I am sensible enough to know that the friendly, furry companion is far different to the reality of cat or dog ownership. I do not want to pick up their poo ( it actually makes me gag), have to ask someone to mind it if I want to go away for a break, get out of my lovely warm sofa to walk it on wintery nights, nor do I want messy food bowls or vets bills. Maybe I am selfish but it is my choice and I very much appreciate that most dog owners regard them as part of the family. I happily mind my son's dogs when they go away for a weekend, but they know better than to ask for a longer holiday! And yes, I do love, cuddle and walk them for a couple of days but glad to give them back after!
