Phantom of the Opera

I am absolutely thrilled to bits. Family round yesterday and we managed to book 7 tickets for Phantom at only £40 each in the new year theatre ticket sale.
Lots of theatres taking part with half price tickets up for grabs.
It has long been my dream for all of us to see Phantom together but the price would have been prohibitive at £80 plus so to get tickets on the last day of the sale (13th Feb) is just wow!
Anyone else seen it? Love it? Indifferent? I have seen it 3 times and can't wait!
I’ve seen it twice Lynibis and love it. You have done well with the ticket prices as they are so expensive normally. I feel sorry for families trying to buy tickets for shows.
I don't think anyone has ever told me they don't like Phantom and I have posted the link below for some amazing ticket prices, lots of seats for many shows still available.
Hi Lynibis, well done on getting those tickets, what a lovely treat. Phantom is one of the shows that I've never got to seeing. I would have loved to have seen it with Michael Crawford years ago. I've heard it's amazing ps glad to 'see' you, it seems like ages, have you been busy with all your Christmas baking?
I hope this link will be useful to anyone who fancies a new year theatre trip. Still seats available.
Yes Janhrrs I have kept a low profile lately as we had Christmas yesterday lol. Was very busy beforehand and also if you read the chat topic 'An ode to my face' you will see another reason why and also some amazing poetry from me and angemski.......well, you may not think it is amazing lol!
Janhrrs and Lynibis I think I got punished for laughing - I have been wiped out for a few days with a stinker of a cold. I must be poorly because I haven't been bothered about looking in here. Note to self.....don't laugh until you know how bad it is. Really glad to hear you are on the mend.
angemski oh you poor thing. But in the words of Monty python, always look on the bright side of life.........hopefully you will be fighting fit for Christmas. I am always happy to provide a laugh or two, I am only surprised the kids I work with haven't commented, but I guess all older people look the same to them lol.
Wish you a speedy recovery. X
I've seen it a few times and love it, Think of Me was the song I was first taught in singing lessons many many years ago and it will always have a special place in my heart. Any live theatre is great in my eyes, nothing beats being engrossed completely in a tale performed right in front of you
I would find it very hard to choose a favourite, they are all so good. I greatly admire the talent of Andrew Lloyd Webber. I was scrolling through YouTube once and came across Antonio Banderas (of all people) singing Phantom with Sarah Brightman it was very good.
Lynibis I've seen him sing before, he has a lovely voice, would love to see Jason Manford in Phantom, his vocal range is amazing
I have seen the film version and I loved that, so I can only imagine how good the theatre show is.
I remember going to see Les Miserables in Edinburgh and it was incredible. You will have to tell us how it was once you have been.
Yes, I also love Les Mis. It will be my fourth trip to Phantom and I am really hoping my sons, their wives and their sons will love it too!
Seen it a couple of times and love it. We were lucky in the black friday sale to get tickets to a few things for our local theatres so now have some shows to look forward to at the start of the year
It's a very enjoyable show and well worth a visit. I wonder if they'll ever bring back the sequel, Love Never Dies, to the West End. It failed badly the first time round, but may be worth trying again in a revised form.
Well, a good time was had by all and everyone enjoyed the show. We ended at Planet Hollywood and all vowed to do it again soon as it was a lovely day. Just got to find another show we will all like......possibly Lion King next.
