lizzie95xx they (TRU/Prezzo) are closing in areas where it's not profitable and opening in those that are. In US alone, Toys R Us is getting over 180 stores closed permanently.
I have been to TRU in Bayswater a number of times and I was more or less the only customer there while there were employees working. Dunno how that store is still going.
It feels like toy stores, department stores and the likes are destined to all be closed sometime in the future while supermarkets will survive, and coffee shops as well as convenience stores. You know, the essentials.
John Lewis and Selfridges will probably struggle to keep business going unless the majority of their customers are that loyal to them.

When we were saving up for our wedding and house deposit, we gave up a lot of things. Neither of us bought new clothes or shoes for a year, we didn't eat out or get takeaways, we did anything we could to save money. It was tough at times but it was worth it. Unfortunately doing things like that means that businesses will struggle!
New look is due to close 8 of its stores in Scotland, 2 of them near where I live. I love New Look, but only buy in the sales and when I absolutely need something. If everyone else is doing the same then places will struggle.
