I hadn’t realised that it was not legal and that people had to order drinks from their tables due to the covid regs. I haven’t been inside a bar or restaurant for a long time now.
If they allow ‘propping up of the bar’, would you be more inclined to pop in for a quick one?

I haven't been to a pub during the lockdown, but my husband used to like drinking at the bar as he likes beginning convesations at the bar.

People like to socialise at the bar, so I can understand that some people will be pleased about this. Personally, I haven't been back to a pub since this all started, and I'm not planning to go any time soon.
