Protesters with Mixed Messages

Other

Yesterday we drove past people protesting about covid but couldn't tell what message they were trying to get across one woman had 2 signs one complained about covid passports one predicting a winter lockdown. Others appeared to be sending contradictory messages too.

Most protesters seem to be unorganised rabble who do not understand the message they are preaching but love to be part of something and enjoy the attention.

They would be better employed organising themselves to go door knocking, explain their motives and beliefs and getting petitions signed in person or online.

Most protesters hurt the folk they claim to be fighting for as in the M25 idiots. Why hurt those who do not have the power to change anything? Surely laying down in front of politicians cars or chaining themselves to council and government buildings would be a more reasonable action to take.

No don’t encourage people to go door knocking, last thing anyone wants is that.

Mango4 No probably not, but am trying to think of peaceful alternatives to motorway chaos

in order to get their point across.

A lot of people these days take part in protests for the wrong reasons- because they think it's a trendy thing to do, because they think it's cool to tell people they've been part of a protest, to get attention, to cause trouble, to just be part of something, etc. The cause/issue isn't the main focus for people like that, so it isn't surprsing that they send out mixed messages or contradict themselves.

Predicting? There's not much to predict, if governments decide their citizens to stay home arrest they will.

Democracy.

If an overwhelming majority decide that they would like protection from Covidiots and that protection entails putting all those who don't comply with the majority wish of the population, under house arrest or banning them from places they're likely to endanger the majority - that is DEMOCRACY.

I have nothing against people protesting peacefully but I think some protestors don't actually know what they areprotesting against or they take it too far.

I don't understand the Insolate Britain protestors as their actions are hurting innocent people that can't do anything to change things.

I certainly don't want them knocking them on my door!

The problem is alot of protesters these days just enjoy the feeling of being apart of a 'movement'. Makes them feel important I guess.

Some protesters will be just joining the bandwagon but most will know why they are doing it. The protests will keep happening and it could have be addressed a bit yesterday in the budget but no we can have cheaper champagne instead.

Would forming a protest group to protest against protestors be counter productive?... Just a thought:

Volunteers required to carry the banner. (I'll write a protest song)😀

Love a good protest to be heard and make a change to something that is otherwise beyond your power to change as an ordinary folk. But as ever, in the public domain, it invites conflict and creates chaos. Fed up of seeing so many divisions out on the street and amongst the masses, when those at the top to sit back undetected and apathetic to any and all public cause.

And on and on they go. Maybe I would like to visit my sister.....oh no, motorway chaos, oh well I will go by train, oh no, train drivers on strike. Do the current batch of protesters really think they are getting joe public onside with their actions? Rather I believe they are alienating everyone.

I am sick of being held to ransom and my freedom and liberties being curtailed, even being told I shouldn't eat meat. Oh yes, I believe we have to work lots harder on climate change and the meat industry needs to be far more humane. There is a food chain on earth whether it is unpalatable to us or not. Why not stop lions killing gazelles, and all other animals killing each other in horrendous ways? Life cannot be sanitised, childbirth, war, illness, all these things cause pain but life is a mix and why do we think domestic animals were put on this earth? I don't believe cavemen had a plant only diet.
