The Queen's Green Canopy
Ask a Question
I wasn't aware of the Queen's Green Canopy project, which invites the public to plant a tree to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. I wasn't aware of the until I read that Bradford were planning to plant 10,000 trees as a urban forest.
Alan Titchmarsh is ambassador of the Queen's Green Canopy, as I didn't know what this, I looked it up. Am I the only one who didn't know about this ?
What a great way to commemorate her reign.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one, you think it would be better published, especially as it's such a green thing to do
I was aware of the Queens scheme but not Alan Titmarsh's role in it all. Quite a few councils are planning urban forrests - I know Plymouth has quite ambitious plans in this area too. I just hope that it does actually happen !
It might have been, I think he might have suggested it for the Jubilee. I had seen a few stories about urban forests, but didn't realise it was a national project.

Queen Elizabeth II is asking us to take to our gardens to mark a milestone occasion – her Platinum Jubilee. Prince Charles announced the campaign via a video on the official Royal Family Instagram account in which he urges us to celebrate the event he calls the 'Tree-bilee.'
I wasn't aware of this but I think it is a wonderful thing to do, even if it wasn't the Queen's platinum Jubilee. I hope schools get many children involved and maybe even use some of their school fete funds to help buy some saplings to plant.
