Real Christmas Tree or Artificial Christmas Tree..?

Ask a Question

For me personally, it's got to be without any shadow of a doubt every year a real Pine Christmas Tree that gets put up in the lounge not anything at all artificial. My wife isn't necessary that keen, particularly as she often finds herself clearing up most of the needles after the tree comes down. The big dopey dog (bless him) doesn't help either with only adding to dislodge a lot of the spiky aftermath with his constantly wagging tail brushing against the thing lol.

Always had a genuine real tree ever since being a little kid.

Just something about a real tree fully decorated and with all the presents spread around the base of it.

What do you prefer..? And what do you crown the top of your tree with..?

Bring on Christmas in just over two weeks I say.

Meanwhile, this coming weekend is tree hunting time...

Let the festivities begin.

We use a fake one that used to belong to my fiancés mum. She passed away a few years ago so it really means a lot to us to put up her tree at Xmas.

With real trees I think it’s always such a shame to cut down a perfectly good tree, have it indoors for a few weeks and then see them all dead and discarded on the streets after Xmas is done. It seems like such a waste of resources to grow these trees.

I know some people have potted Xmas trees so they can keep on growing. And you can even rent them out.

F, If you have a look at my chat post from yesterday about christmas trees catching fire it might help decide which one is safest and least likely to go up in flames, the christmas lights being another factor

cheers

I have an artificial tree. Less mess and cheaper.

Artificial tree. You don't have to constantly clean up the pines that fall off and it is much cheaper as you don't need to buy a new one every year.

artificial for us. financially the better choice and so sad to see a tree cut down used for a few weeks and put through the tree shredder 😞 what a waste

too much hassle with a real one, the mess and the dog trying to eat all the needles

We have an artificial one, always have had. I remember my gran having real trees and the needles were a nightmare! I don't think a real tree would be any good with 3 kids and a dog either so I'll stick to fake!

you get some pretty good realistic ones these days. So artificial for me. You can always get a pine candle. Last longer then 1-2 weeks with the fake.

I love the thought and smell of a real tree, but it's an artificial one for me, it can be used year after year plus you have the added bonus of not having to hover up pine needles for the next few month.

We top the tree with a Santa

Artificial easy to put up, no mess and the dog doesn't think it's somewhere to go to the toilet on 🤣

Artificial tree for me. I been using the same tree from Argos (sale) for the past 15 years with the same decorations. It takes less than one hour to set up.

We had a fake one that we used for years, although a real tree exudes Xmas. Mind you, with cats they just make a mess of everything

My mum has given me her fibreoptic Christmas 🎄 this year. It's going on top of the unit out of reach of my cat.
