Regifting- Savy or Grinchy?

Ask a Question

How does everyone feel about regifting? If you couldnt or didnt want to offend by returning a gift to store is it better to regift it or should you just be thankful you got a present?

Better to regift something than have it cluttering up space and never being used I think

As long as you're careful not to gift it back to who gave it to you, and not to anyone they know (in case they find out), and you think the person you're regifting to will like it, there's no problem at all.

Damn right but keep track who give you what in case you re-gift back to them

It’s savvy, and definitely one way to ensure you always have a gift ready for whomever and for whatever occasion that pops up. All gifts are well received

Regifting is very sensible. Much better to pass it on or give to a charity shop if you’re given something you’re not keen on. I once threw away a Christmas present my mother in law gave me as I couldn’t imagine even a charite being able to sell! I couldn’t lie by saying ”how wonderful or lovely” but managed to say “thank you”.

I haven't had to refit anything in ages as I'm never given anything I don't like or won't use. If I did get something I didn't like or couldn't use then I would probably give it to the charity shop or to people who collect presents to give to people at Christmas who wouldn't get anything otherwise.
