Retro Games Consoles
Ask a Question
Has anyone bought a retro mini Nintendo if so is it any good ? Would you recommend it ?
Not bought the Nintendo one, but I tried a Spectrum one a couple of years ago.
It was too hard to control to be any good alas.
You can buy a cheap android box or raspberry pi and run many emulators on them and attach decent gamepads. You can get retro style cases for raspberry pi boards too. I bought a cheap NES console with built in games from Aliexpress, I think it was £8 and came with two pads but the composite video output is only really good with old CRT sets. It's ok on my LCD.
I run most of my emulators on an old original xbox console, its not quite powerful enough to run PSX and N64 games at full speed but manages everything below that, some of which it runs at 720p and 1080i with decent component output.
As collectable items these mini consoles are good but as actual experiences to play your favourite retro games not so good. Often they have limited features and don't have all the games you want to play.
