These digital card services are generally praised for being quick and easy to use but digging a little deep, it shows that they may lock you out of your account with considerable amounts of cash in it.
This article by Revolut has customers complaining their accounts were locked and they can't get their money back as long as it is.

As for N26 you'll read similar cases on their Trustpilot page.
Just be careful using these services but that's sort of random luck if the system locks you out and then takes months to get it solved.
I was pondering on investing in Bitcoin via Revolut but if they for some reason block me from my own account, that would be pretty annoying.
I had a bit of an issue with Revolut when i first started using it, and though it seemed to take ages to get resolved, I dont believe it was entirely their fault so it just took them longer to get to the bottom of it. As a whole it was easy to use, and very transparent, so I’d recommend them
I have never heard of these accounts you are talking about. I would love a short explanation if possible. I don't get too much from the website. Do you get a card? Do you transfer money from your standard bank to this one? What is the advantage of using it?
Yes, you do get a physical and a virtual card from these services. Basically, you sign up, you're reviewed and accepted, the card is dispatched and then you can deposit/transfer money to it.
Anyhow, I want to invest on Bitcoin and my two options are via Revolut or Coinbase so guess I'll trust Revolut and if they go bankrupt, the customer rep told me I'll get my money back (I'd still not take her word blindly but as somewhat of a risk 50/50).

Another card service that comes to mind is Curve. I have my PayPal Business MasterCard card (gives 0.5% cashback every month) linked to it so if I purchase anything on eBay then I can use it whereas PayPal Business MasterCard itself refuses to work on eBay for some reason.
With Curve you don't deposit money but link a card(s).
Rockman Thanks for the reply. I have seen lots of people pay using their mobile phones on the quick pay and wondered how they were doing it. My bank does not offer it. So the advantage is that you can buy Bitcoin etc. Not sure day to day if this would be worth it, although I like the way it tracks what you spend in the app.
I use Curve, And I got a free £10 for just googling an affiliate (not to be mentioned)
They have a really nice blue plastic card which is contact-less. But if you like metal for £9.99 a month you can get curve black which is aluminium, If you read into the upgrades or the plans section on the app, You also get travel insurance and mobile insurance for free!!!
Otherwise for £14.99 a month you can get a rose gold and a gold card, Which includes a lot more juicy extras!
