Saved More or Spent More?
Money Saving
As we are mostly
Working from
Home, do we feel like we’ve saved more or spent more money?
Probably saved more in our household. I used to buy food to go from coffee shops and cafes quite regularly but don't do that anymore. Plus we're shopping online more than before to avoid the crowds so probably saving a bit there too.
I think I've spent more, our household food and electric bills have increased. Plus I have done more online shopping this year.
We have saved more. My husband is a teacher so still going out to work but I'm at home with our 2 year old. We have saved money as I swapped supermarkets and am sticking to our list every week. Our son is not going to his clubs so saving money on the fees. We are only buying absolute essentials and if we do need something then I will try getting it with amazon vouchers from surveys or buying it 2nd hand from fb, although I did that before the pandemic anyway. I've saved money by doing a lot of the work around the house myself, saving on petrol as not going out apart from weekly shop. I've also made some money from selling some of our unwanted items or stuff my son no longer needs. We are also having less take aways so saving money there. We have always been savers, bit have recently upped our efforts, nothing to do with the pandemic but future plans.
I believe we saved more. As my husband doesn't need to commute (tube + train) he saved a lot on transport fare. We've spent more on food and board games but all in all we're saving
