WHO Says Lockdowns Should End

In the News

Much as I despise WHO, I actually agree with them here.

Lockdowns are only doing more harm than good.

I am happy to be in lockdown, or at least avoiding public functions.

I'm going to go against the trend here as I don't think Lockdowns are the answer. People have been socially isolated, mental health problems increases , screening for cancer and other diseases is put on hold, essential operations cancelled, during lockdown people are also more stressed and domestic violence increases just a few of the issues that surround lockdowns. The economy takes a massive hit, businesses go under and people lose their jobs, they are also a massive cost to the country in terms of benefits and support . money that will ultimately have to be recovered ,probably in the form of increased taxes and cut backs on services ( including NHS) and infrastructure . And ultimately Lockdown is not a cure just a delay tactic

Getsome We are going to have to learn to manage the situation far better than we have whilst trying to keep as normal a society as possible . Covid is going to be with us for a long time.

Agreed. Whilst I am not a covid denier, I do believe it is overhyped. I am sorry to all of those who have lost their lives to this virus but we cannot carry on like this forever. There are many other potentially deadly viruses out there which have been around long before covid yet they don't get anywhere near as much attention. I believe the best solution would be to continue protecting the vulnerable but otherwise get back to normal. I just hope for their sakes that those in support of lockdowns don't have loved ones on the increasing waiting list for vital cancer treatments.

I'm in lockdown in Wales and technically, I'm not supposed to turn right and leave the end of my street as it on a border county. Also, rather than drive a couple of minutes to shop, we're supposed to travel for miles and miles instead to stay within our area. The numbers aren't going down so it's futile, in my opinion. They need to identify where the spread is happening then make restrictions not just guess and hope for the best

We are in our own personal lockdown at the moment as my husband has got to go in for an operation. To be honest it is quite nice as I know we are not getting any unexpected visitors.

If there were to have been a lockdown, it should have happened at the initial stages
