Selling Animals Online

In the News

I have just read a very disturbing story in the news regarding cats being sold on gumtree to be used as bait for dog fighting.

Numerous of these poor cats have been sold online just be attacked by dogs and painfully die.

Please think twice before you sell any animal online and do any checks you possibly can.

Exactly this - the people who are getting these animals online to use in fighting are usually because they are free, they don’t want to pay £100 for an animal that’s going to die. Never give animals away free to a good home! They should always have some fee, if people can’t afford to pay the fee, they shouldn’t be getting the animal.

This is horrible. There needs to be more legislation in place to protect animals and harsher sentences

Online pet selling and rehoming should be banned and anyone caught trying to sell or give pets away online should be prosecuted.
