Selling Crafts

Does anyone sell their own crafts they make? If so where do you sell it? Or is it more of a hobby to you? I can sew, knit, crochet etc. I made quite a few bits while I'm on furlough and my friends keeps telling me I should try to sell it... but I'm not confident enough... I don't know if anyone still buys handmade items anymore...

but I suppose I'm worried of being dissapointed too... if I'll make plenty of things to sell and then no one will buy any I would feel way worse...
BlueOrchid start with what you've already have and if you see they sell then you can make more maybe?
I sew and crochet and I'm like you I'm not confident enough.
Etsy is good for handmade stuff though ☺

I'm very critical to myself. And then again I wouldn't know how to price it all... for example I made baby play mat...it took me very long time to cut it all out, to sew it, edge it etc... it came out great I'm very happy with it. But as for the price for all fabric plus my many hours I would have to charge at least £30.. and that wouldn't really be any profit because if I wanted buy more cute fabric I could barely get few metres of it with that. Also £30 kinda seems a lot?..
I would try selling on Etsy or eBay, be aware of the fees and postage costs and go from there. I'm not sure of the fees on etsy but on Ebay it's 10% of the selling price and paypal fees are 30p plus 2%
lornaae dont you have to pay fee per item on Ebay too? Plus when I sold something on Ebay years ago it took the 10% off from price+postage combined so in the end I barely earned anything from that sale....plus I kinda feel that people go on Ebay for cheap stuff. And I'm wondering if etsy isn't oversaturated with crafts by now...
BlueOrchid I’ve sold stuff on eBay and theyve taken a 10% fee, you have to consider the PayPal fee on top of it then so I always take that into account but have sold some things on there and been happy with it. Depends what you’re selling/how much you’re hoping to get for things I suppose
lornaae well years ago I was selling my sons clothes. It was like new. All brands stuff Disney, next, Ted Baker tops,shirts etc. 10 items in total. I washed it, ironed it, took beautiful photos. I was hoping to get at least £10. It said bidding on similar items starts at £3.49. I put postage £3.49. In the end it was only one bidder...so out of £3.49 I was left with pennies
sometimes the facebook market page is good- because you don't have to worry about delivery. ive also sold bits on ebay because theres such a huge audience to advertise 
My Sister makes Greetings cards, and they are pretty good.
She sells them in local Libraries, She usually gets a month at a time, and the Library take 20% of sales.
I wouldn't say she makes a living from it, but as a sideline she does Ok.

that's a clever idea. Has she tried any craft fairs? My friend does them often. I think they charge £30-40 per table but she could display plenty cards on it. Maybe make some extra bits like decorate fairy doors etc... again she wont make a killing but it should leave her with some profit
BlueOrchid Craft fairs are not something she's looked at so far.
Of course sales of her cards in Libraries over the past few months have been zero with them being shut, so I will suggest maybe some craft or Christmas fairs to get some cards sold.
