What Shampoo Do You Use?
Ask a Question
My hair is falling out. What shampoo do you recommend I use?
I have been having this problem for quite a while.
My wife has been recommended Plantur39 - not cheap but she likes using it so far and apparently smells and feels nice. remains to be seen how Well it works as she only started using it this week.
Ditto didbygraham
MrsChimp uses the Brown one which helps with her greying as well.
As said, it's not cheap.
I’ve been using Kerestase, find it lovely and they do all different ranges. I bought mine in June and it’s nearly empty now, don’t need too much of it.
I use tresemme but I have really thick hair. The conditioner is great. Tropic hair care is also amazing maybe worth a look but not cheap x
I use Garnier Ultimate Blends. The Oat Milk one is the best for me personally (I also have skin allergies and this one doesn’t cause any issues in that department either) but the Almond Crush one is pretty good too.
cocolgooh I used that one before and I agree its quite good. I had to change my shampoo because it was quite expensive.
If it has been happening for a while and you feel that it is more than just the normal amount of hair loss then it might be worth talking to a Dr. Hair loss, more than the usual amount, can be caused by a number of things.
MrsCraig Yes, It's more than the normal amount. I remember I used to have strong thick hair and because its been falling quite alot I dont have much hair.
Justshopping it might be worth taking to someone. I know hair thins as you get older but hair loss is different.
MrsCraig Im in my early 20's and the amount of hair I have is the same as my mum's who is 20 years older than me.
Justshopping I don't tend to bother about my hair, as long as it is clean that's all I'm worried about. I would maybe go to a pharmacy and speak to a pharmacist for advice, they might be able to give you an idea of what products to use or tell you if you need to speak to a specialist.
MrsCraig I have booked an appointment with my doctor so hopefully they can give me advice on it. I should really stick to one type of shampoo.
Justshopping I don't think changing shampoos regularly would do that much damage to your hair. Glad you've got an appointment though, hopefully they can help.
MrsCraig They do have lots of chemicals. Im not sure anymore. It can be a number of things. I think it's best to ask a specialist.
I like to use bedhead, as they smell nice. Cater for different hair needs. Nice big bottles that last ages & always a bonus when deals are on them..
Lublu That sounds really good. Where can I buy this shampoo from. Is it online or can I buy it from a supermarket.
Lublu I will definitely have a look at the prices and compare the prices. I am taking a liking to the dove shampoo which makes me hair smell nice and makes it feel silky.
I would recommend Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo - it's supposed to be good for hair lost. I got this for my husband.
He has already got a receding hairline, but it seems to be working in terms of he hasn't lost any more and his hair seems thicker. But he is not that bothered he says " grass doesn't grow on a busy street " @Justshopping
You can buy it most places, Boots, Superdrug or Amazon, it's normally £5- £8 depending on wether or not it's on offer, lasts ages Justshopping
I dont know if i am just lucky or it is the shampoo, but i have been using fructis by garnier for more than 15 years and still have my hair and most of the colour
I dont just stick to one hair type , i have used different ones over the years if they didnt have my preference
I have tried others but this works for me , maybe not for others , it could be genetics has played a hand
Thats from a male point of view
telmel I was going to say
The more the hair grows the weaker it gets hence why it falls. My hair is pretty long so maybe why. It falls more than the normal amount.
Howmuch I have used dove and im taking a liking to it. It made my hair very silky and feels light. The scent is very nice too.
I just use the apple one from Asda, I usually would just call council standard shampoo, it works good enough for me, but my wife and kids all use different ones.
Justshopping It's actually Alberto Balsam Apple shampoo, it's 95p and comes in different fragrances too.
