Shoplifting Has Hit a Record High.....

Ask a Question

How should we tackle the rising shoplifting crisis?

With shoplifting offences in England and Wales hitting record highs, it's time to consider effective solutions. Should we explore stricter penalties or alternative approaches to deter such crimes?

As there is no deterrence and shoplifting is generally carried out on a regular basis by individuals.

A three strike system should be put in place in order for everyone to know that there are consequences to their actions.

There needs to be stricter penalties in place. The first time you get caught the police should be involved, even if it is below the threshold. There needs to be deterrents as well as consequences.

It's just going to get worse and worse while we follow a moronic idealistic soft agenda. There is no capacity to house extra criminals, there is no spare capacity in the courts the only options are to up the punishment to deter crime or use criminals as a slave resource, i.e. working the fields etc so they create a profit to pay for their imprisonment.

No surprise as its on the rise, I have worked in retail in the past, a lot of the shoplifters know the police wont even bother coming out to deal with it, so they just grab a bag full of stuff and walk out. The staff don't feel safe so wont approach.

It's free for all culture now because the police tell shops not to phone them if it's under £250 What.....

I heard about 3-4 car alarms going off yesterday around 5am and I found it suspicious if someone was trying to break into them... I dunno, didn't see anything broken.

However, I did see a car window broken on a street 10mins away from me, again no idea if that was a robbery or an emergency.

That was in London.

So... Shoplifting is far from the only issue, crime has gotten out of control and the CINO (Conservative In Name Only) government does nothing about it. Neither would Labor, and Reform? Don't kid yourself, they're Tory 2.0.

Richard Tice is the answer? Uh...
