Who's Ready For Shops Opening?
Ask a Question
Anyone ready/prepared for most shops to open back up on Monday?
Is anyone going to go out and have a look to see what the stores have got to offer or going to wait a while before going in?
I'm in Wales, so it's different here.
Wouldn't go out shopping anyway tbh, I'm happy enough doing everything online.
I'm going out to our local shopping centre on Monday so I'll pop my experience up on here for people worried about going out. I think shops will have to be sensible, employees with masks, hand sanitisers in store etc. but I think the most important thing is for all of us to support local businesses when this is over and make sure they stay afloat instead of shopping at big chain stores! We need to use our common sense too, it will keep more people safe!
PhilipMarc No, I don't think this will be over anytime soon. There will be a detrimental effect on people's workplaces, their businesses, and their mental health. It won't be over any time soon but when it starts to die down and everyone returns to some form of normal activity then we need to support local businesses more than ever.
I'm having Hobbycraft withdrawal, I know that I can online shop, but I just like looking at the stuff in there
Shops not reopening where I am yet in South Wales, but the supermarkets and shops that have been open throughout seem much quieter than a few weeks ago , went into local Asda this morning , no queue at all straight in . The only issue I find is once in the shops people totally seem to forget about distancing a woman this morning came straight up behind me and reached around me to get a pack of strawberries, couldn't have got any closer, and the thing was she had a mask and blue gloves on but didn't seem to care about the distance as long as she got what she wanted.
I'm Scotland shops opening next week if everything all goes ahead, it's going to be strange kinda got used to them being shut!
Yes I am. Online is one thing but need to get out the house more often so in a week or two time I'll eventually go into the nearest shopping centre
No, I won’t be rushing out to the shops, although I have been going to Sainsbury’s once a week and Boots and Wilko to get essentials. I tried Asda a couple of times but too many idiots in there! We have managed to get tickets for entry to National Trust grounds tomorrow. My only concern is the toilets! My husband says we’ll be queuing to go behind a tree!
I’m desperate for Ikea and Primark to open up here (Scotland) I probably won’t go for a month to let the crowds calm down but I need nursery furniture and baby clothes and am running out of time
Just watched Alice Beer at the opening of a John Lewis store. She showed how well it was working with limited numbers allowed in and social distancing etc. She then went up the escalator gripping the rail with both hands as she looked down at the camera. So how many will be doing this?
I read several years ago that hand sanitisers are only good for about 3 minutes before germs can start breeding on your hands again.
The other day I got petrol first time for 3 months. How many had used the pump before me, some doubtless even bothering to clean their hands.
If I need/want to purchase something I don't have an issue going into a shop to purchase the item(s). Although, a lot of shops in my area are still closed, particularly off the main shopping streets.
