Has It Shrunk ?
Ask a Question
Are you noticing how products are shrinking but the price stays the same. What is the worse item/ brand you have come across ?
Does everyone else think of a creme egg when they read this? Or a tin of quality street/roses. They used to be massive tins (my nan still has one from years ago as she used it for storing little bits and bobs)
Your comment brings back so many memories. Quite often as a child and when I was at someone's house, I would get all excited when I'd see a chocolate or a biscuit tin, so I open it up only to find boring bits and bobs.
Yes I’ve noticed the packs are getting smaller on lots of things. I used to buy large packs of chocolate biscuits but now they do several weights costing more for less in a pack.
Items get smaller to save the increase in price. I know sometimes they increase the price too. But yes lots of things are way smaller
Regular bags of crisps are bad. They charge too much for a small amount. I also didn't like it when Toblerone increased the space between triangles, but it proved really unpopular and they eventually reverted back - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-44910195
So i work in Boots and i noticed a few times recently, Tresemme changed their bottles of Hairspray from 500ml to 450ml, but they kept the price the same.. they pretended it was “rebranding” and made the packaging look slightly different, but you wouldn’t notice there’s less product in it, the bottle looks the same size.. Dove have just done the same thing with their shower gel and bath cream, same size bottles, but 50ml less product... Pantene went a different way, you used to get 400ml for £3, now it is 500ml for £5!
