Snoring Remedies
Ask a Question
As I lay here wide awake at 6:35am, with a bear snoring away next to me... can’t help but wonder if there are any snoring remedies that actually work? He’s one of these snorers who snores in any position, it doesn’t matter if he’s on his side, front or back and it doesn’t matter if I tell him to roll over, he carries on snoring... I swear it’s so loud the neighbours must hear it
My husband and my father both snore. They have tried numerous snoring remedies over the years and nothing has worked. I'm used to my husbands snoring and it doesn't bother me anymore but if it does I just give him a shove! Makes me feel better.
We use Breathe Right strips, doesn't stop the snore completely but does reduce it. Also good if you have a cold as they open air passage. Other similar makes are available
There are probably no effective remedies for this. Deviated septum, overweight, etc., may be the reasons.
I seriously put a pillow over my husbands head. Also I put tv on to drown out the noise. All else fails I sleep somewhere else! We have tried breathe strips and other gadgets but do not work. We have noticed if my husband has a big meal nearer to bedtime that makes it worse.
That’s interesting I do tend to find its worse the more tired he is but otherwise I’ve not noticed a trend... I would sleep somewhere else but I’ve got a 12 ft pregnancy pillow at the moment so it’s difficult to lug it around the house
sarahgreen15 ahh the pregnancy pillow, my husband hated mine! I however loved it and told him if he didn't like it he knew where the spare room was! I found it difficult to sleep during pregnancy and my husbands snoring did not help! Maybe suggest to him that he sleeps in another room, if that is possible, as you need all the rest you can get when pregnant and his snoring is keeping you awake. The only other thing that might help is some ear plugs. My mother swears by them!
My husband snores and it’s getting worse to the point I sometimes go and sleep with my son in his bed so I feel your pain
Unfortunately there’s not much you can do, apart from ignoring it or choosing to sleep apart
It's best to see a GP as snore remedies don't work, the only way to get rid of snoring completely is with a cpap machine or in some cases surgery.
One of the things that heavily contributes to snoring is your bodyweight. That goes hand in hand with your general feeling of tiredness during the day as if you are even slightly overweight you will notice differences.
