Sparkling or Still
Ask a Question
What’s your favourite water? I never understood sparkling but it is a preference for some.
I’m more of a still type of girl
All depends tbh.
Most of the day I'll drink still, but I do like a bottle of sparkling every so often, especially the morning after if I've had a bit too much wine the night before
Sparkling is nice with a touch of fruit, but not on its own.
Still is nice with a touch of fruit as well as on its own. So my vote goes to still.
RegularComper90 I quite like these ....
It's sparkling water with natural fruit flavours and basically zero calories. They are very subtle and very refreshing.
There's no way that I'd pay full price for them though. I bought a pile in using a 40% off code.
TheChimp The triple berry one sounds particularly nice.
Must start looking out for them.
I drink tap water at home, so till gets my vote. I don't like sparkling on it's own, but add some squash and it is nice.
Watch out everyone..............fizzy water can make you fat!!!!!!!

Lynibis I'm sure I'm heading for D2 with the amount of sugar I consume, but I've done it since I was very young, so quite a long time. I can't drink anything with artificial sweeteners in it, so I'm a bit stuck (along with a large cost of buying the full sugar stuff like Dalstons and Fentimans).
And don't get me started on Haribo
Congratulations on your weight loss, 7lb in 3 weeks is quite impressive
TheChimp Please don't think I am interfering, I am saying this from someone who does not want to see another person get Diabetes 1 or 2. My nurse made it plain to me that D2 is as much of a killer as D1 on my first Diabetes check. My life is now a round of 6 monthly checks, blood tests, eye tests and I have the start of retinopathy, and my feet tingle nearly all the time. The podiatrist told me nerves do not heal, it is progressive and started on about amputations etc.
Please please please reduce your sugar intake now.
I have gone from 2 to 0 sugar in tea. I try very hard to not eat biscuits, cakes, sweets or puddings but fail occasionally. I prefer to have carbs with my dinner (they turn to sugar inside you) like rice, pasta and potatoes, then I feel as if I have had a decent meal.
What makes it harder to bear is that a friend has D2 and she eats all day long, quite a piggy really. She eats chocolate, crisps, biscuits and has squash that is 1 part squash and 2 parts water!
She is on Metformin and her last sugar level check she was 55 and mine without the drugs is 54. You can imagine how sick that makes me as she doesn't even try.
I told the Dr I would take the drugs if and when he says to but i know that if I do it will psychologically do me in as my mind will tell me I can eat what I like now as the drugs will keep me well, but that isn't the case and I would sooner use willpower and be drug free.
To anyone reading this who, like me, was a sugar/choc/treat addict, stop and think seriously about this as it is a fast growing disease and LIFE/LIMB THREATENING.
I used to eat several bars of choc a day, sugar in drinks, plus desserts etc but your pancreas can and does wear out. It is not repairable and don't wait for a cure......it ain't gonna happen.
I hope that maybe just one person will see this and decide a bit of sugar is not worth the cost of your life.......please cut down now, I wish I had done so sooner but it was not widely known about when I was pigging out on goodies, young and slim!
Still, have a habit to start my morning with 0.5 l of water. If my stomach is bad then its sparkling like Borjomi .
I used to hate sparkling, but for whatever reason, one day I drank sparkling by mistake and now it’s my favourite. I’d pay for a bottle of sparkling, but not still as I’d happily drink from the tap
I can't stand sparkling water, I always have still water. Mostly strawberry or lemon flavoured
