Spending Less on Mother's Day?

Ask a Question

Are you planning to spend less on Mother's Day this year?

With buying for both of our mums and my husband buying for me from our daughter AND both mums birthdays during the same month, it adds up!

Pot plant for mum and box of chocs for mum in law. No children of our own. Birthdays but just look for offers and cash back.

SamGoodship Not really. I think our mum’s are worth spoiling but I’ve never spent a ridiculous amount. £10 limit. I either get points, cash back as well.

Will be getting mum a gift card and invite her to ours for dinner. Mother in law has already had her present. Told husband not to get me anything from our son.

SamGoodship yes I will be. I never spent a massive amount on mother days anyway but will be slightly less this year.

Sadly my mum is no longer with us - i tell my kids not to bother- I would rather have something homemade off my kids and grandkids. They still spend money on me though bless them.

Within reason i try not to look at the cost too much when it comes to gifts. If i see something that is suited to my mum I’ll get it, if i don’t i’ll just get her some flowers and chocolates

I always spend what I can afford, so I can buy my lovely mum 🥰🥰🥰... something that I know that she will apprechiate whatever I buy her, for her other special day apart from her Birthday.

No I disagree with the whole concept, it's not mothers day it's mothering sunday, the middle Sunday of lent when traditionally you went home to your mother church.

Treat your mum nice all year round not that Sunday especially.

In my opinion Mothers nevet get the recognition they deserve. Mother nature created things people destroy. Yet it's all necessary to the environment, living and health etc. Mothers conceive, give birth and spend the rest of their lives looking after, advising and worrying. If only there were medals for Mothers. Always look after your Mother.

The kids don't buy me presents. We just do cards and hugs. But we've always given my mum a present on mother's day, since I was little. So we continue to do that, don't think she expects it tho, got her a lovely lush gift set this year 🙂

It’s not all about spending money but more offering to do certain things that mean more. Breakfast in bed, a few chores and just spending time together.

Box of chocolates and a bottle of wine this year.

I usually do food as well, but I'm going to have to see if Harvey the woofer is better because he gets really wound up when my Mum visits
