A man woke up one morning to find a car parked on his driveway
He can only think someone parked it there to avoid airport charges at nearby Manchester Airport, or a parking company had left it there
So he had to park his own car on the road
Four days later when he got up out of bed it was gone
If it happened to me i would have clamped it and not released it until someone paid me 4 days parking, probably what the airport charge
I'd be letting the tires down or getting it scrapped. I've had this. Nearly got run over having a go at the driver and. Worse was my baby was in my arms. Used taped notes on mirrors. Had one snotty women visiting a neighbour look me up and down and demand to know if the space was allocated expecting me to say no. She shut up and moved when I told her yes and that she was lucky as my oh was about to go to the pub and wouldn't move his car til the morning
ellengully letting the tyres down is a good idea E , or even removing a wheel would save clamping
Smash the window, let the handbrake off and shove/drag/tow it into the street.
Years ago some tool parked outside our garage was able to open the garage door. Hooted no one came out. Oh tried the car door. It was unlocked so pulled the handbrake off and the car rolled. He left it in the middle of the road and blocking a small side lane
What a cheek. My mum's bungalow is on the market and her garage plot is being used by someone else. It's frustrating as buyers can't park there (which they should be able to) to view her property. Gets on my wick.
Disgusting, can't the police do something, isn't that trespassing on your Mum's property??
janphoenix51 Mum contacted the estate agents. Far as she knows now no one has tried to park there since.
The other year a Land Rover appeared outside our home & my partner couldn't park his car..It was there nearly a year & he checked to see if it was stolen which it wasn't, it was owned by someone on our little road, he & his partner both had cars so couldn't park it on their front & it's only people's back gardens on the other side of our little road so couldn't park it there.
The car moved then moved into our next door neighbour's spot where he parks his taxi, it moved again into next door but one's parking space but only for 2 weeks
This car was parked between our three houses but mostly on out front for 2 years!!
Having spoke to neighbour next door but one who had it parked outside her home for 2 weeks it turned out guy further down road had bought the Land Rover during Lockdown as a project to do up then got Covid!!
My sister & brother in law live on a small cul de sac off a road & one of the houses on the road has a taxi business so parks his cars in the cul de sac. As soon as a driver leaves in the taxi another one takes that space so the people who live on the cul de sac have hardly anywhere to park!
janphoenix51 Tell your brother in law to park across the cul-de-sac in such a way that the inconsiderate taxi owner can't get out but make sure you got a camera set up to monitor any damages that may occur.
It's the bottom part of the cul de sac & when I visited my sister the other day I could see two taxis parked up, man runs a taxi business from his house on road off the cul de sac..
Last year there was an incident involving car jackings & Police Community Support Officer injured...That car was driven to the cul de sac & burnt out destroyed my brother in law & a neighbour's cars, my sister gave the footage to police & they got a local for it..
My sister says it's a pity those taxis weren't parked there at the time, that's how angry she is!!
I'd be worried and call the police to see an unknown car in a private parking so they'd remove the car.

PhilipMarc There's nothing that the police can do in these circumstances, as it is classed as a civil matter, the best thing that the owner of the house could do, would be to park his car behind the offending vehicle and refuse to move it when the owner or company con man turned up to collect it.
I seen this. I’d have bought a wheel clamp and he’d b going nowhere when he got back 
Well as its been left on private property I'd remove the wheels and wait for the car owner to return. I'd return the wheels once a fee for parking had been paid, maybe £100 a day for my inconvenience.
Luckily this has never happened to us. The other day I had a car blocking our driveway. The car in question was visiting our neighbour, who has a large driveway and there was space for this car to park there. The neighbour and said car owner were standing on her drive talking. I opened the window and very loudly told my husband that a car was blocking our drive and if it wasn't gone in the next minute I would get it towed. Car moved very fast. They came to visit the neighbour again the next day, but they parked on the neighbours drive. I would never think of blocking someone's drive.
Playing devil's advocate, I wonder if the car owner had been told he could park on someone's drive but went to the wrong house? My brain cannot comprehend that someone can do such a thing. Also why didn't the homeowner report to police, the car may have been dumped there after a crime and then collected when they thought they were safe.
I wonder what would happen if you had the painter and decorators in to repaint the outside of the house while somebodies car was illegally parked on your drive
If it was splashed with paint , gloss paint possibly if they were wooden windows , would you be responsible ?
I had a work van parked on my drive, so i couldn't get in. So I parked in front of my drive for a few hours so he couldn't get out. Some very inconsiderate people about.
