Have You Had Success Using X (Formally Twitter) to Complain?

Ask a Question

With some companies, I can't get any sense out of them by phoning Customer Services or sending emails, so I go onto X. It seems to get their attention pretty quickly.

I had a delivery from Asda on Wednesday and they sent me £87.20 worth of the wrong items (cigarettes). After going round and round with the outsourced CS, I turned to X Saturday afternoon. They DMd me straight away and after some communications, I was refunded the whole £87.20 this morning. And I get to keep the cigarettes.

I find X great when I'm not getting anywhere with CS as the companies don't like complaints about them being posted which can be seen by everyone.

Has anyone else had any luck?

Jackscot Did you manage to get a refund through customer services or did you go on X? CS were absolutely useless when I tried to sort the problem out

Jackscot Asda CS were terrible.with me. I don't know what country they were in, but they didn't seem to understand what I was saying.

The people on their X team must have been UK based because my problem was sorted out very quickly.

Not on twitter so never used it to complain about anything but i do find it a bit annoying that these companies will only correct a problem if they are receiving negative publicity.

You would think companies would want to correct their mistakes but these days it’s hard getting them to even take responsibility

jms19 I think that they drag their heels hoping that the customer will get frustrated and give up.

TheChimp well yeah that’s exactly it isn’t it. Honestly is rare this days and companies will not hold their hands up to their mistakes very often which is annoying

Asda has gone downhill big time, used to be good, but we've also had 2 wrong orders, or orders that they deemed as lost, took forever to sort out, won't buy from them again anytime soon

Yeah I noticed this too

Cause I can’t go to shops often and I had to try using Twitter this was last year as I tried calling Sainsbury’s customer service

The call connected but all I could hear were voices and they completely ignored me and cut me off they hung up the phone on their end!! So rude 😠

kitty88uk That's good 🙂

I've always found Tesco CS very good when I've had to phone them, so I haven't had to resort to Twitter. My issue is normally sorted out in a couple of minutes. I think that it helps with them having a UK based call centre.

TheChimp Thanks 😊

Yeah better as they instantly reply back to you!

It’s very handy that you can just go online to talk to them as the issue gets sorted out fast!
