Cheap Tassimo Pods?
Ask a Question
Does anyone know if there are any "aftermarket" tassimo pods out there? They are so expensive nowadays
No, I do not think so...u need to hunt for deals...sometimes Aldi has them, sometimes Lidl....
It is expensive...my husband was thinking to get an other machine, because of the pods are cheaper for those
I think clearance bargains and Approved Food sometimes have them but they can be short date and or even after the best before date. The tassimo site itself has cashback through topcashback and quidco I think and sometimes there are codes to be had that reduce it further. I used to have a Tassimo machine and really loved it but I just couldn't justify the cost of the coffee so got a bean to cup machine instead but to be honest I actually preferred the Tassimo because of the interesting flavours. I keep meaning to get some syrups to make my bean to cup coffees more interesting. I think you add the syrup to the milk before frothing.
BonzoBanana Seems like a bit of a hassle to me.
Is the milk frother part of your bean to cup machine or is it separate?
The worst thing about the Tassimo discs is that you can't really recycle them unless you take them to a dedicated centre
TheChimp It is a bit of a hassle to be honest and requires more regular cleaning which is why I'm quite a fan of Tassimo's but it produces an arguably better coffee and it is much cheaper per cup. The frother is built in, right side of image.
I don't think that there are any 'aftermarket' discs out there because the patent hasn't run out, so no-one can make alternatives.
You are right, they are soooooooo expensive.
I normally buy the Costa discs which are definitely the best out there. You can normally get 5 packs for £20 (£4 a pack) from Amazon. You can get them for a little cheaper if you subscribe and save (you can always cancel after the 1st delivery).
Thanks for everyone's replies here. The quality of the coffee is brilliant but due to cost am having to limit the drinks. I guess it's made me a bit of a coffee snob! Haha
We get our Tassimo pods from either Morrison 2 packs for £7/£7.50 or Asda sometimes have them 3 packs for £10. We like the XL Americano bigger mug for your money
