Best Way To Clean Tea Spoons?
Ask a Question
Having just read a cheap deal on tea spoons on here I was wondering how you clean yours, or what is the best way to clean them? Due to making lots cups of tea and due to working from home, they have got stained from the tea. I do have a nice set of spoons which I do not use for tea making because of this issue. Do you scrub at yours or do you just chuck them and buy more??
Mine never stain as I use the dishwasher most of the time. But before I had a dishwasher many moons ago I used to soak them in miltons sterilizing fluid or tablets. Brought them up like new. bleach does the same job
I use bleach to get the stains out of cups, so will try this too. I think this will be cheaper then buying a dishwasher just for my spoons! Ha ha!! Thank you
The quickest and easiest wat to clean the tea stains from teaspoons and cups is to rinse them and rub them with a bit of table salt using your fingers.
I bleach them in a (tea-stained) mug of bleach with water..... cleans both then! Wouldn't dream of chucking them. ... we are big tea drinkers so I feel your pain!
Ive soaked them in a weak mix of baking soda and white vinegar before and just gave them a wipe down and that did the trick
Nevermind cleaning them mine keep disappearing I think they get flung way with yoghurt pots
Either bleach them each week or put in the dishwasher if you have one. Both will do the trick
Yes I do, but one thing i have noticed with this set is that they're not stainless steel like my other set (which i don't use for tea making) So could this be the issue??

I use this tea bag squeezer, I got two from Lakeland, but looking on site they do not sell them anymore. But I have seen Amazon and other stores do. They are amazing and work really well. I have two as one stays out while the other is in dishwasher and swap them daily. No more mess with teaspoons and no stains.
Our teaspoons seem to 'disappear' randomly. One day I'll find teaspoon junkyard somewhere
Use a mug that needs a clean-up too, add the teaspoons, a small amount of powdered detergent and enough boiling water to cover the bowls of the spoons. Leave for a few minutes and then wipe clean.
I use one of those magic sponge erasers - brings them up really nice and not a lot of effort involved.
Not personally as we don’t drink a lot of tea but at work mugs and spoons are cleaned in hot water with a little bleach every now and again to clear any stains
Just dunked them in little bleach in a cup, let's see what happens! I SHALL have my gleaming spoons back! Ha ha!
Put them in a cup with a denture tablet and leave over night. If they are silver they'll discolour/tarnish anyway and you'll need to clean with a silver cloth
I did try this before but it took ages and was hard work, that's why I was asking for ideas on here. Thank you for the tip though!
I have bleached them and they have come up like brand new again, yeah! I will though try the other tips too, thanks for all your tips!
