Tell Me about Your Wedding day..
Ask a Question
So today (20/06/20) was meant to be our wedding day but we cancelled back in April due to the current situation.. gutted because we were so looking forward to it and now there is little to no availability for venues for next year as so many people have had to rearrange.. so please cheer me up by telling me nice things about your wedding day, what made it magical etc
I got ready with my best friends at my parents house. We had so much fun. I was really relaxed and chilled out, my bridesmaids couldn't believe it! It started raining and everyone said don't tell her, as if I somehow couldn't see out the window! I told them as long as I got married I didnt care what the weather did! My mums neighbours who I have known since I was born, came over with a horseshoe and wished me luck. I travelled in the car with my dad to the venue and it was nice to have some time with him. I had to hold back tears when the piper started to play when I walked down the aisle. My mother in law mouthed at me that I looked beautiful. The ceremony was lovely, romantic and funny. We had a brilliant drinks reception, amazing meal, wonderful speeches that were funny and heart warming. Then we had our first dance, I danced with my dad and then the rest of the reception. It was wonderful because our friends and family had travelled a long way to be there. It was a beautiful day, we had lots of fun and the guests loved it too.
Beautiful photos and lovely description of your day, sounds like you have some wonderful memories of your special day and you look so happy in all the photos
sarahgreen15 it was the most wonderful day, we will be married 5 years this July and our friends still talk about it! We were very happy on our wedding day!
MrsCraig Hi I was going through in few question I seen this very pretty couple May God protect you both all evil eyes stay happy and safe.

MrsCraig aww hope you guys have a lovely anniversary despite everything that’s going on
I can't remember much. The night before and morning of I was getting the Village Hall ready for the reception, everyone in the village had made various items from the food Mum had provided. It rained while in Church. Probably the thing I remember most was Dads speech, he didn't like talking, I didn't want a long speech, this is what I got "I won't say much, as we all know the date today I hope (husband) has a happy and safe landing and (me) is ready for the invasion. Please raise your glass to The Bride and Groom". We got married 6th June! (he's now the ex).
Costly but so colourful. Overrall was a great experience. Had an amazing time. We had 3 functions, those who are familiar with Asian weddings we had 3 big celebrations as part of the wedding. So 3 different days, 3 different venues and 3 different costumes.
SonsOfPitches I am sorry for asking you a question some Asian people celebrate 4 different venues.
SonsOfPitches as you mentioned 3 big celebrations day just want to ask you some Asian celebrate 4 days did you miss one Edit no problem will ask you other time
Sanitation1234 nope. We had a Mehndi, Barat and Walima. The 3 celebrations. Not aware of 4 that some people do.
Well the marriage didn't last but the wedding day was a good one (until the family fight at the end ). We didn't have a lot of money and so a lot was on a budget but it's amazing what you can achieve with very little. My step mum did the food, her sister made the cake and did all my make up and her brother did the DJ set! All for free instead of gifts. It was just a great day to spend with friends and family
