Tesco at Tower Bridge Store Locks up Sausage and Bacon to Prevent Theft

In the News

Well i know food is increasing in price and getting ridiculously expensive but having to lock up the bacon and sausage seems a bit extreme

It is usually the expensive spirits and such that are tagged because of theft but they are locking the bacon up with the likes of steak and ribs instead of putting security tags on them apparently

I could say this takes the biscuit , or doesn't take the bacon is closer to the mark

I truly can see 1 day pretty much anything and everything having a security tag on . It really is a different world out there and people are growing in desperation and it will only get worse and the worse bit is the idiots in charge at the top .

I think nowadays most shops don't expect the police to come when they report a crime except perhaps for better richer areas so they have to be proactive in how they protect their stock. There are so many chavy vile people about with no moral compass. I was in Iceland when two thieves were caught in the store, the staff member just claimed the bottle of alcohol back and told them not to come back. Phoning the police wasn't even on their radar it seems. I guess in some areas the type of stock that is stolen regularly varies. We are facing much greater levels of poverty but theft should never be tolerated. Already prices are increased to allow for a small percentage of theft as theft increases so will prices to compensate for their losses.

What is going on in the world, I saw shoplifters in Poundland a while back going after the headphones and tech items. It wasn’t a shop I'd expect to see someone stealing from.

Our local Tesco puts security tags on anything that costs £5 or more. Too many shoplifters around
