Tescos Clubcard plus Loyalty Scheme - at £7.99 per Month?

In the News

It’s not for me, but perhaps good for those who do large shops with Tesco

This wouldn't work for me either. I prefer to do frequent small shops and the other perks don't relate to me.

I was surprised to see them come up with such a scheme, as £7.99 per month sounds like it’s quite expensive. But I guess if people are currently being charged for deliveries, then it may save them money

I do big shops in Tesco but I would rather not pay 7.99 a month and save that towards my shop as the 10% you get off for a big shop and certain brands wouldn't make it worth your while. Plus it doesn't say if you would get free deliveries on online shops so could cost you even more.

This feels like an alternative to Amazon's Prime. I just hope everyone isn't going to start doing it.

Look at streaming and PC gaming launchers.. there was once one major and now there's multiple.

Yes, anything with the word ‘subscription’ often make me think of amazon, and they certainly have made their way into people’s households. At least cancelling with them is easy... not so much with other compaInes

There is also Costco that has a subscription service and as you probably know, you can only purchase from them if you have that card. Otherwise you can't, unless online purchases here and there. hspexy

Rockman I think I’ve been to Costco once or twice as a guest (or it might have been a Makro), and although I see the appeal, there isn’t one that close to me, so the trip alone doesnt make it worth it for me, as I don’t need to buy in bulk.

And if you do and you know someone who has a Costco membership, he/she could buy it for you, anyway. hspexy

I remember Makro, when I was a kid my dad used to say I couldn't go in because they didn't allow children. I think he just didn't want me to go 'cause the others all allowed. 😆

£7.99 a month...I think it is for companies not for small family....U can get 8 things from that much money and make a dinner out of 8 pounds.

I reckon this won't last long lol. Looking all over the internet, people think it's kinda pointless which it is unless you spend a fortune at Tesco.

For me it is utterly pointless

Not worth it for me, and would still probably work out cheaper shopping at a discounter supermarket.

I wouldn't do this, I hate subscription charges for anything. I don't even get Tesco deliveries anymore due to their high delivery costs.

Don't you think it's rather odd that you have to subscribe to bcome a loyal customer!! What about us charging them to be a loyal grocery provider... 🐞

I know, it sounds like a really strange way to market themselves to customers - I thought my standard loyalty card made me a loyal customer already...obviously I’m not worthy lol

hspexy It is a really strange concept to imagine that we have to pay to be a loyal customer! None of us are worthy! 🐞 Image
