Texas Hospital Suspends Employees Who Refuse the Vaccine

Businesses are now allowed to require workers to show proof they've been vaxxed, or as shown here, they'll be suspended (and if still refusing, then fired). In the past, this was a 'conspiracy theory,' but it wasn't after all.
In the U.K., it appears they're trying to do the same on NHS. It'll come down to, get fired and preserve one's health or get vaxxed and keep his/her job.
It is worrying this is a step away from forcing people into getting vaccinated I believe in vaccine myself but don’t think anyone should be pressured into taking it
I disagree - it isn't until everyone who can be vaccinated is vaccinated that this pandemic can be controlled, health workers, who can't understand the statistics aren't fit to be health workers.
For many years it has been compulsory for doctors to have certain vaccinations to practise in the UK - no one thought that was unfair.
I can see that when the vaccination programme is rolled out completely that the unvaccinated will be persona non grata (unwelcome ...in the company of vaccinated groups). So they'll probably need to form their own groups and perhaps eventually kill each other off.
davidstockport you may well be right but people still have free will you start taking that away were do we end up
Mick82 Yes they have free will and I'd hate to deprive them of that - the rest of us have the right to a reasonably safe environment (or as safe as we can make it) they don't seem to care about us.
I actually sense that the tide is turning and very soon the few who can't see that they should act for the general good of others, will soon be unemployable, I wouldn't employ a person who might endanger the lives of other employees or customers who for some genuine reason couldn't get the protection that the vaccines give. Who knows the NHS might adopt the "NO JAB - NO JOB!" policy.
davidstockport I agree with almost everything you say but the fears these people have are only being made worse by talk of forced vacations in a few months when they realise we have not all been brainwashed or killed off they will realise their own stupidity and be begging for a vaccine
Mick82 I could understand people being wary of the vaccine at first, and believe most of them have changed their minds, but there are a few who cannot admit they were wrong, who will never change their minds. I doubt it will ever be mandatory to be vaccinated, but as already said I, and presumably many others, will shun their company. Many pubs etc already need no legislation to bar them admittance and it's unlikely that the vaccinated will wish to frequent places that do admit them. I think we can guess who'll win
As you say if and when they come to their senses they will be begging for the vaccine.
davidstockport Yep, I think you're right about doctors and some medical staff. I had to have a Hepatitis jab before working in Biochemistry doing blood tests.
davidstockport I have seen some of the conspiracy videos doing the rounds especially on tik tok and if you were easily influenced you would believe it the money behind these anti vaccine groups is scary
If the vaccine works, then why must it be a requirement that others are vaccinated? If the vaccine works and you have had it, then you are protected. I will be getting vaccinated at any time now, but I personally couldn't care less whether or not others are vaccinated as I will be protected. Should we start wearing sunscreen every day as a way to protect others from sunburn?
Whilst I would certainly recommend getting vaccinated as a way to protect yourself, I don't believe it should be forced.
RegularComper90 There are many people who for one reason or another can not be vaccinated, even those of us who are vaccinated can still spread the virus to them, but those who are not vaccinated are much more likely to do so. It isn't until every person who can be vaccinated is vaccinated that there is any real chance of giving the vulnerable protection. I too personally feel safer being fully vaccinated* but am not one of the "I'm alright Jack" brigade.
* That will need boosting, probably annually, until the virus is extinct - which isn't very likely if there are any infected amongst us.
