Things we do not understand
Other
Prices in the stores.
I really do not get it why a block of butter is so expensive. My local store do not even sell cheaper version. They start from £1.40 for the own label one...but it is just butter...
I agree.. used to be like 75p until Anchor raised its price the new shiny packaging and then every Other brand followed suit!! So annoying!
AgnesFaludi hehehe its all Anchor's fault! Kerrysmade butter is also the same price now! Even own store brand like same as Anchor prices. Not fair!
nemosays After they find some bugs in one of the biggest supermarket's butter and they called the product back, I do not buy them...I am thinking to stock up on LIDL or Aldi's butter....if the price is better...
AgnesFaludi oh yes good idea.. I have never tried LIDL's or Aldi's... thanks for reminding me

Seems like we will not save a lot on this one
I don't get why supermarkets don't sell chips with jamón flavour. Not even Aldi or LIDL which they should as they're all around Europe.
Aldi is available in US and had some promotion on Shameless Season 7's finale episode (hope that Season 8 is the last 'cause the show's just dragging on forever).
AgnesFaludi I used to like eating the salted tortilla chips but now I'm just numb to it, it's like it doesn't even taste anything anymore. About jamón flavoured chips, I have sent an enquiry to Aldi/LIDL if they'd sell it in UK supermarkets and no response or the actual chips have ever shown up on either stores.
AgnesFaludi I know that Iberian international stores do, but they only sell branded chips of Ruffles. They cost about £1.80 per pack with 150g.
Evan Davis does a great podcast called The Bottom Line. In March, he had an episode all about pricing and how businesses determine it:
It is quite common for supermarkets - Asda in particular, to have offers on selected sizes of products only rather than all the sizes. A recent one was Kenco Milicano where the larger tin was £4 whilst the smaller (half size) tin was £4.49 - they were on the same shelf next to each other yet some people were still buying the smaller more expensive one. I dont understand that!
I know sometimes you have to get the calculator out to try and work out if deals are better or not but when its that obvious...
AgnesFaludi yes - its a great deal from them - got lots of tins in our cupboard!
Unrelated to food or deals:
I noticed a user on Twitter who said "racism towards white people isn't a thing" and then I commented on it, afterwards that same user added me to a list named "A**holes of Twitter". Needless to say, I have took action against her (sent Twitter an email to the various customer reps on the CEO Website) as this is a matter of respect that Twitter needs to defend from malicious people like her.
Better to take screenshots in case the original tweet post is deleted.
You did good. I would report it too. Just not on!! So much hatred in the world already and then there are numpties like that!!
Sometimes, some people are silly. I would also report it. I feel deeply discriminated via the current government. I do not know how can I get them deleted....XD
