Do You Think the Olympics Should Be Cancelled or Go Ahead?
Ask a Question
With the postponement of the olympics last year due to the corona virus outbreak and with how the world is right now with restrictions in so many countries around the world do you think the olympics should go ahead or just without crowds?
I know lots of nations will be disappointed but until the worldwide pandemic is over the Olympic Games should be postponed.
I completely understand that, for many Olympians, this will be their one and only chance for glory but the risks are too great and we really need to create a fire break or we will all be in a more serious yearly situation than necessary. It's sad but, when so many have lost their lives, a metal medalion seems trivial in the bigger picture. (for the record - I love the Olympics and stay up to watch the events until the stupid hours) I will miss it if it doesn't go ahead but celebrate that, with a bit of luck, I will see the next one.
I saw on the news that they are planning on isolating everyone in the Olympic park from athletes to staff, tv crews even cleaners and catering. I just cant see that working and sadly i can see it being postponed again
There has been a lot of speculation that it will still go ahead, but without spectators. Whatever the outcome Japan should be given the option of holding them again in 2032 or 2036 if they want it (the locations for the next two Olympics has already been decided). Given the amount of work and enormous financial cost involved in hosting the event, it's a shame the Tokyo Olympics will end up being be a watered down version at best.
I can’t decide. Common sense says no, but I would love to be able to watch it on tv this summer.
I think they should probably postpone it. I just don't know how they would be able to go ahead with things the way they are.
