Know if you are buying it for long or short distances, this will influence what car you should get and how quick you need to get the car charged. Ie if relatively short distances, a leaf is great. Longer distances will need something else. Image

We love our KIA Niro.

Sadly we can't have a charger on our house which is the most frustrating thing, but the amount of places to charge for them is expanding. Check the infrastructure in your area and places you travel.

The only issue we've had is travelling and then not enough places to charge or they aren't working.

The only issue we've had is when a when a lorry reversed into it when it was parked correctly in a car park, which has nothing to do with the car itself!! Lovely smooth drive too.

Tesla drivers have soo many places to charge usually, they are lovely looking cars too, so might be worth looking at one of those, as they can use most chargers but not the other way around.

Everyone seems to disapprove off EVs on our local group, saying that they are causing issues and it isn't fair that they take parking spaces and should be removed. But they wouldn't like it if we limited more petrol pumps etc. They also say it is silly to have an EV as there isn't enough chargers everywhere, but they won't add chargers if no need. So these comments should be taken lightly when considering an EV. I think people are worried with the unknown or feeling forced to switch eventually.

Yeah think I might just stick with petrol after doing some research regarding the areas I drive and the charging points.

My newphew had an electric company car and found it difficult charging up plus the extra time waiting. Had a power cut one night too.
