Do you move from necessity, wanderlust, or not being able to settle Ann? Please do not answer if I am prying!

I have moved lots in a few years. Had my own flat, met man and moved into a bigger rental and rented mine, landlord sold but gave us another smaller property, moved back to mine while we sold it and bought our own, which is where I am now.

Dozens of times ! I was in the RAF and we got posted at least every 3 years as a matter of policy . In a way it was a pain , but got to live in many different countries .

Its getting better these days for those still in the RAF as moves don't happen so often , so people get chance to put down roots .

Don't miss any of the houses I lived in , but miss some of the places I was posted .

One advantage of moving every 2-3 years - you don't accumulate a lot of junk as you have to pack up all your wordly possessions to move and bin the junk .

Now I've owned my own home for 20 odd years I have to get a skip every 2 -3 years to get rid of the junk (and I hate throwing stuff away ! I might need it one day ! ) . At least it gives me time to get the garden nice for myself , not for the next occupant .

About a year after I was born my family moved to another house and I spent the rest of my childhood there and have not moved since moving into my first house. I've worked away a tiny bit but only short periods.

I stayed in the same house from birth until I got married and bought a house in 1994 when I was 21 and I am still here. My daughter and her family live in the house where I grew up which is lovely as it is still in the family. I have no intentions of ever moving.

4 times since I was born. My parents had a high rise flat till I was 2, Then moved to our house when my brother came along, Lived there till I moved out at 17, Lived in a council flat for 2 years (Rough area, hated it.) When I was 20 we bought & moved to our current flat, moving with a 2 year old & 6 week old baby was tough. Been here ever since tho. Have enjoyed living here & raising our sons but feeling unsettled & ready to move on, OH isnt as keen just yet tho.

I have lived in 9 different places for long periods of time and I'm in my 20s... That tells me a lot.

Actually 9.
