Sorry to hear this. I’m only 40 but I keep stumbling across articles about the menopause so I’ve been saving them so I am more prepared about what to expect!

Hope you find these useful (sorry the first 2 are from The Sun but they came up in my Apple news feed!)

My work does webinars and guest speakers about menopause once a year. You could check if your work does something similar?

I know it's not an option for everyone but HRT really helped my mum and mother in law. My mum tried all the menopause herbal tablets that you find in boots first and she said they helped but HRT was what really worked for her. Might be worth seeing a GP.

A fan in the bedroom and a cooling pillow really help at nighttime. There are also natural menopause supplements available if you don’t fancy HRT.

My mum's been struggling bad, I got her a fan with mist button to help with the hot flushes, a water bottle with mist button and a cooling towel. She's talking to her GP about HRT, not looking forward to getting older now😂

One thing I suggested to my wife for her hot flushes at night was to use the dogs cooling mat in bed. She said it really helped. Dog was a bit confused though.

I had a ceiling fan fitted in my bedroom a few years ago and it has been an absolute life saver at night, I even have it on low through the winter. I didn't have HRT due to heart conditions in my family.

I also have hypothyroidism but medication should sort you out for that. Kale needs to be avoided. Just make sure family and friends know what you are going through and hopefully they can support you.

Aenurse1 I've just post a comp for a menopause magnet. Details are in Health and Wellbeing magazine. Only advice I can give is I used a cold hot water bottle at night and kept some flannels in the freezer.

Avon have started this range. I have bought the spay but haven’t tried it yet as my flushes seemed to have stopped for the moment 🙏🤞

it might be worth a try I used a fan but to be honest it did help a bit but when you flush you flush and it just seems to run its coarse

Aenurse1 your welcome. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful as I feel your pain. I’m hoping it works. I had a hysterectomy 12 years ago but they left my ovaries In as I was just in my 30s so they felt I was too young to have them removed as I would go into early menopause but I’m having my ovaries removed soon ( hopefully). Due to COVID my operation has been delayed. So I will probably have the flushes again unless I have been very lucky and I’m passed it 🤞

Aenurse1 I have an appointment on Wednesday so I’m hoping I will get some idea of when it will actually go ahead. It’s been 2 years since my initial appointment. But there are people with life threatening illnesses waiting to be seen which should of coarse be done before me.

I would recommend 10 things we learned from Davina McCall’s menopause

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/davina-m%E2%80%A6

Her documentary was good Davina McCall: Sex, Myths and the Menopause - All 4

https://www.channel4.com/programmes/davina-mccall-sex-myt%E2%80%A6

It was good to hear about someone being so honest
