Today is the Most Depressing Day of the Year!

They say it's the most depressing day of the year today...it's so cold too! How do you combat depressing days? Hopefully your tips may help someone!
Sending positive vibes to all
I’ve had lovely day today with visitors. I understand why so many became depressed during lockdown.
After a very rare whole weekend off but being home alone the whole time I must admit I felt down and today has not improved my mood being back at work. It is no fun climbing in and out of vehicles in all weathers and struggling with heavy babies in cradles, it also adds to the gloom when you hear your hours have suddenly lessened in order for another to 'earn more' before going on holiday! Favouritism is alive and well when you cook food for the bosses.
After I found this out this morning, it was good excuse to stay in bed! But I decided to get up and went for a lovely walk with my daughter. Always works for me.
I take Vitamin D supplements in the winter which seems to help. There are usually lots of Vitamin D deals.
Focus on the lighter days yet to come, the gradual stirring of nature. Snowdrops pushing through the earth, buds forming on trees, catkins, dogwood stems resplendent in the winter sun.
Just hunker down in the warm with something nice to eat, something enjoyable to watch or listen to, or play, and take your mind off it all as best you can.
I have to say I have never really bought into the idea of Blue Monday. I was at home today as my son is ill but I certainly wasn't down about it. I also think that technically any day could be the most depressing day, as it all depends on what is happening in a person's life.
I feel it is only 'the most depressing day of the year' as they keep telling us it is and putting it in our head.
We should be grateful everyday and appreciate even the very small things.
It is still January and we should be looking forward to the year ahead, focusing on what we want to aim for.
I think it being cold is more positive than it being too hot, at least you can warm yourself up, cooling yourself is a lot harder and it can make it harder to breathe, that awful stuffiness in the air when it is hot and humid.
We need to look for positives in every situation, yes grieve when needed but we'd all be happier people, spread more happiness and it will hopefully be a happier place.
