'Tornado' Rips through Lincolnshire - shocked at damaged caused
In the News
I was just watching Look North, regional news programme and they are showing people tidying up the damage.
Seems to have been really localised Humberston & Thorngumbald
Yes, I read this earlier and it's in my county! Scary stuff but my, it was really windy yesterday!
I was looking at this on the news earlier, very shocking. It's very windy where I am but nothing like this.
beccatavender It surprised me too, I know we get strong winds in the UK sometimes that do a bit of damage, but usually not like this.
I wasn't aware of this at all there has been earthquakes too in Australia and Greek island Crete
It's really surprising what makes the headlines, I only picked up on it after listening to the local news.
Does feel like more extreme weather is much more common nowadays and with new records constantly being broken for high temperatures plus sea levels rising very quickly its clear the future is going to be chaotic. At least the UK has very high quality housing stock, typically heavy duty brick or concrete construction etc. The sort of buildings that cope well with high wind. However coasts will be eroded over the next decades, the outline of the UK could look very different by 2100.
