A Tweak to Points for Popular Comments

Hi everyone! 
I just wanted to let everyone know that there has been a small change to points for popular comments.
The idea for popular comments has always been to try and award genuinely helpful comments that other members have appreciated.
We’ve seen an increasing number of members who have made friends on LD (which we think is great!) give each other a helping hand by liking each other’s comments. To ensure we can continue to reward members with points (and explore introducing new ways to earn points too) we have to try and strike a balance where we’re still awarding genuinely popular/helpful comments (giving more detail about a deal, pointing out a cheaper price elsewhere, etc) rather than it perhaps being limited to the polite and kind (but maybe not so detailed and helpful) comments of friendship groups on LD.
The number of likes required for a ‘popular comment’ has now increased and may change again in the future as we look to get the balance right. Also, only "Super Great" comments are now eligible for popular bonus points. Our goal is to find a sustainable approach whilst promoting genuine and helpful comments from individuals.
We have also updated the system to deter members with multiple accounts (which isn’t allowed on Latest Deals) from getting bonus points by liking their own comments.
We hope that this minor tweak will have the intended purpose. The threshold for popular comments has been the same since it was first introduced. There are now 2 million more members signed up for Latest Deals and so the ease to reach the new popular comment threshold should hopefully still be much easier than it originally was!
As an aside - I’d like to share that we do have an additional process where we manually award big bonus points when we spot comments from members who have gone the extra mile to help out

Am I right in thinking this has nothing to do with chat only deals? Quite a while back points were stopped for popular comments on chat. Since then there have been some really helpful comments but no idea if they get any points. I don't have anything to do with deals so doesn't affect me but I am curious. Sorry to be obtuse
Lynibis Hi no we no longer give points for popular comments in chat as it was open to abuse so we changed it some time ago to be fair to all users. You can see what you can get points for and how many which has now been updated to reflect this latest change here >>

Jackscot what are you confused about? Basically, it used to be 3 likes on a comment on a post other than a chat post to get a bonus of 20 points as it must be a great comment to get 3 likes but there was a bit of abuse going to to get people to give you three likes so now the amount of likes to get the 20 point bonus has changed from 3 to 5. You will not get any bonus points for likes on a chat post though - I hope this helps if not please let me know and I will try to help and explain more. I have included a picture below explaining too

plz just keep an eye in few users accounts I hope your must know who’s they are if everyday they keep giving like’s to there friends comments plz stop them as recently user’s only comments no like’s to deal’s they goes in specific accounts where they get’s around 7/8 likes pr comments especially Boots deal’s hope LD team will keep an eye (those user’s rise there voice’s back few months about chat here users keep giving like’s to each other’s comments getting point’s after that LD stopped point’s in chat BUT that groups start liking each other’s comments,funny thing is those user’s don’t come in chat because no point’s they happy in deal’s I think LD team should give only 20pints to good comments they should Stop giving point’s even if someone comments gets 5likes nothing impossible for them those in group hope Kelsey your know what I’m trying to explain plz don’t mind if said anything wrong all word’s are true daily basis experience ,thanks for always helping us
